Beginning a New Ending
with Rob Oliphant, MP
October 13, 2016, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm Eastern Time
JOIN US for a day long seminar on the ethical and spiritual implications of medically assisted dying. It’s the beginning of a new way of thinking about our ending and while the legislation has passed there are still many questions to be resolved and pastoral responses to be developed.
This will be a live conference at College Street United Church in Toronto ON. United-in-Learning will bring cameras so that you can participate in the plenary sessions and workshops through the Internet.
Afternoon workshops will include:
- Bronwyn Best, international ethics consultant, "Medically Assisted Death: a case study"
- Christopher Levan, "Four Criteria for Medically Assisted eath and Four Pastoral Predicaments"
The workshops will be more informal and interactive. Participants joining remotely will be invited to contribute their thoughts, comments, and questions either by toll-free telephone or by typing onto the screen so their comments can be read aloud to the group assembled in Toronto.
