Rendez-vous Re-imagined!

Rendez-vous 2020, the United Church Youth and Young Adult Gathering will be going ahead August 11-14, 2020— just in a different way.

2020 is turning out to be a year of the unexpected and that means Rendez-vous 2020 will be unlike any other. Due to the ongoing health crisis, we won’t be able to hold a large gathering in Calgary this summer. It’s up to us to dream together what it means to be a community of faith, even if we can’t all be in the same (physical) space.

Through real-time online events, recordings, and DIY workshop kits, we will celebrate bold faithbrave space and brazen grace. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Inspiring speakers, powerful worship, and singing your favourite songs
  • Fun, engaging, and interactive workshops and activities
  • New friends from across the country and around the world
Sign up now! General registration closes on August 7, 2020.

Congregational Finances During the Pandemic: New Webinar

August 12, 2020. 7:00 p.m. ET / 4:00 p.m. PT

Erik Mathiesen and Clyde Harris return to United in Learning next week to provide an update on financial tools and government assistance information that will be useful to church treasurers.

The Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy program has been modified significantly and extended to December 2020. Almost every ministry with a payroll account is likely to be eligible for some degree of support. Other programs have been modified or will be winding up.

The webinar will review the details of the revised CEWS program as they apply to our ministries, and walk through the steps to calculate and apply for it. Erik and Clyde will also respond to any other questions treasurers may have about the various pandemic relief financial programs.

Please join us!

Hunger Skyrocketing due to COVID-19

People of the United Church have asked how they can support our church as we reach out to partners and the vulnerable communities they work with during the pandemic. Make a gift today to support those suffering around the world because of COVID-19. Your support will reach vulnerable communities in the global South and provide them with life-saving food. To learn more and support this appeal, visit the COVID-19: Global Response webpage.
