ACUHO-I + Mackey Mitchell: Unified by a Commitment to Student Success

The essential mission of ACUHO-I (Association of College and University Housing Officers International) is to support campus housing professionals, and their institutions, in providing residents dynamic living environments.
Mackey Mitchell Architects, recognizing their tremendous contributions to enhancing the lives of student residents worldwide, began a deep and long-term engagement - 17 years and counting - with ACUHO-I rooted in our own passion for student life design. Here is why we value and support ACUHO-I:
  • Meaningful relationships and personal friendships with like-minded professionals.
  • Spirited on-line dialogue focused on current trends, and creative problem-solving.
  • Opportunities to share our own findings at conference education sessions.
  • A venue for affecting positive change for today’s students and future generations.
MMA is honored to receive the ACUHO-I 2017 Outstanding Corporate Friend Award.  We are grateful for the rewarding collaborations we have had with ACUHO-I and look forward to the many rich conversations and experiences that lay ahead!

The recently completed expansion of Umrath House, part of the South 40 Center at Washington University in St. Louis, represents the most recent example of how Mackey Mitchell Architects has worked with the university for more than 20 years to reshape the student residential experience, which is consistently top-ranked among US campuses.

I am amazed at what great colleagues and friends I have made with Mackey Mitchell through these projects. Folks there really care about the campus, the students, the staff working there and the construction partnership it takes to complete new facilities. They treated their designs as works of "art" and I am so happy their art has been added to our campus. I have had the privilege of presenting with them on our projects at several conferences and have always enjoyed the experience of sharing our work with others.
