Greetings, Prayer Warriors,

How are you? Thank you so much for praying for us and the ministry here in Northern Thailand. You have a very real and important ministry here. Thank you so much for partnering with us. We could not make it here without the support of our praying partners.

Leon Update
Thank you for praying for Leon, Steve’s new friend who is a Thai Buddhist. He has not begun to follow Jesus yet. But they are continuing to meet in the mornings. Yesterday, Steve shared the parable of the wedding feast- those who were too busy and not interested in coming and about the man who came but who refused to wear the festive clothing provided by the King. This parable flies in the face of the independent Thai spirit that wants to do everything their own way. Please continue to pray for Leon, that God will convict him of his sin and convince him of the coming judgment and overwhelm him with the love of God.
Today, we are on our way to the Northern Thai Pastors and Wives Conference. There will be much teaching over the next three days. Steve will share twice. He is the “opening act” tomorrow morning, in fact. Please pray that we have safety on the road, that he can sleep tonight and feels well tomorrow. Pray that God will put His words in Steve’s mouth and that everyone will understand and become excited about what they are hearing. May they become passionate about knowing God deeply, living holy lives in response, and sharing Jesus with those around them. Pray that God will break hearts this week and pour out His Spirit!
One other prayer request we have is about flooding. Many places throughout Thailand (and probably surrounding countries too) have started experiencing flooding. We have received much more rain during this rainy season than most years and they are predicting that the rain will continue all week. It is about time for the rice harvest. Please pray that the harvest is not ruined and that farmers can bring in the harvest safely.

Many families are struggling economically after 3 long years of covid (you know how that is!). So now the flooding is a double-whammy, making life even harder. Our house seems to be on high enough ground (thank you, Jesus!). But Rebecca’s Thai tutor is expecting her house to succumb to the flood today and many communities further south in Thailand are even worse off than Chiang Mai. Those of you who have been here know that the electrical wires here are often laid right on the ground and twisted together without much protection. Things like this make the idea of flooding even scarier.

We cannot thank you enough for your prayer support! Please let us know if there is something we can be praying about for you too.

God bless you!

Steve and Rebecca
