Happy Spring! (Finally!) Despite several last ditch attempts by winter to hang out, looks like spring is finally here! 2017 Recap: Thank You For Another Great Year
2017 marked the 43rd year
that HDGHA has ser
ved the community, and we made another year of beautiful memories helping families find their way to financial independence. With your support and generosity, we provided affordable housing for 350 people along with food and supplies for 200 households, 324 after school programs, 35 adult education classes and four public events.
We improved our facility with the addition of new entry doors for the HDGHA office; the placement of security cameras throughout the entire HDGHA neighborhood; and an upgrade to a keyless entry system for our laundry room. We reduced energy costs overall and improved 60 units with new insulation, weather stripping at doors and room exhaust fans. And with zero arrests, maintained our designation as the safest neighborhood in Havre de Grace!
In addition, we launched a new event - Trunk or Treat - and enhanced returning ones. For 2018, we have added another fun activity with our Designer Bag Bingo coming in August; and an additional Mother's Day dinner for our sister housing authority in Cecil County.

Hope Coaches Wanted for Families of Hope
A successful Hope Coach is able to see past a nominee's past or current circumstances and encourage them to have positive mindsets by changing self-limiting habits and behavior. Your role would be to support Harford County Families of Hope nominees as they seek to build new community connections and gain access to resources, since many times those living in poverty are isolated and feel disconnected from the community. Hope Coaches are knowledgeable about Harford County and willing to act as a connector and guide. This is an extremely rewarding experience for all involved. Training is required and an application must be completed. For more information, contact Nicki at firstname.lastname@example.org
