It is our pleasure to welcome new staff to our Bali Life team:
Gregoria (Greg) is our new Bali Life Street Kids Centre manager. She has been volunteering with the weekly street work and is now officially on our staff team to manage our new Bali Life Street Kids Centre in Denpasar. Greg has lived in Bali for a long time and previous to this assignment has worked teaching children and helping those living in poverty. We are really excited to have her on our team and she fills the place with much joy. Welcome Greg!
Eko joins us from Java as the newest staff on our farm. His role is to work as a farm hand wherever is needed and he has quickly fit in to our farm staff community. We are really pleased to have him as a part of our team. Welcome Eko!
We are excited to welcome Yosua, Marta, Fani, Vero, Vini and Ayu into our Bali Life family. Yosua and Marta join us from Medan and Fani, Vero, Vini and Ayu join us from Denpasar. It is wonderful to have each of these precious children in our home and they are all settling in well to our family. We are so happy that our family is growing. Welcome guys!
We are always grateful for the many volunteers that join us here at Bali Life for various lengths of time. We have been blessed of late with volunteers giving their time to help teach Englis
h with the children and to help support the children. We would like to thank Leonie from Holland for the eight weeks that she was with us and the many hours she poured in to our programs. We thank Paul Collins, a Blue Belt Brazillian Jiu Jutsu, who is currently teaching Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to our children. We also thank our other current volunteers: Melanie from Australia, Pauline and Anais from France, and Yan from Porta Rico for the time that you give our children and Foundation. Thanks so much for all of your help. You are very much appreciated!
We also welcome Adrienne Stone to our Bali Life family. Several years ago she volunteered within our Foundation and now has joined us again as our newest long term volunteer. She joins us from Coffs Harbour, Australia and is volunteering her time to help with teaching English, helping in our Women’s Centre, administration and wherever else she can help out. She has very quickly adjusted to life in Bali and we welcome her as a part of our family again. Welcome Adrienne!
e recently enjoyed some extra time off
before our official school holidays started. During this break, we had a visit from Miss Universe from Australia, visited the Neka museum and the mangroves. We also went to Green School Bali
and did lots of fun activities there
including arts, English classes and games. We are really enjoying getting to know the community at
Green School Bali. Some of our youth also had the privilege of going on a youth camp over the weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. We really enjoyed this extra break!

With our increasing family, we are in need of a new Mini Bus/MPV to help transport our family around. If this is something you would like to fundraise or donate towards please do so and email us. Bali Kids Seminars
Recently Bali Kids Foundation
staff came to Bali Life and presented Child Abuse Seminars separately for both our staff and our children. All participants learnt a lot of new and helpful information and are really grateful for the time and energy Bali Kids Foundation gave to present these. We are so grateful for the partnership with Bali Kids Foundation and look forward to it continuing in the future.
We would like to thank Bulgari Hotels and Resorts Bali
and Surya Husadha Hospital
for the regular medical check-ups that we have received lately. Health, hygiene and safety is a priority within our Foundation, so we are so grateful for the time spent and expertise given in performing these check-ups. We are so blessed by this partnership and look forward to it continuing in the future.
In April we once again enjoyed the visit from the team from Little Miracles Childcare
. The team dedicated one week to our Foundation and taught English classes and spent time with our children. Thanks so much to this team for all of their support, lessons, games, crafts and fun! We thoroughly enjoyed our time with you and look forward to your next visit!
Street Kids Day Fundraiser
We are excited to announce that from the Street Kids Day campaign held on April 12th
and with other money that has come in since then, we reached and passed our $14,000 target! We would like to thank all of those people who hosted and/or went to events and donated to our Street Kids Day Fundraiser. All the money raised has gone toward securing two years rent and some operational costs of the Bali Life Street Kids Centre. We would like to publicly thank Blue Illusion
stores for campaigning through your stores for our street shelter, as well as Piter Panjaitan, Courtney Lonsdale, Moon Rocks and Karen Vartzokas for hosting events to fundraise for us. Thank you to various other individuals and companies that also gave money to the campaign. We appreciate all of your time and energy and for partnering with us. Together we can make a difference. We plan to run this event next year on 12 April 2015, so put your thinking hats on, and begin thinking about what you can do and add it to your 2015 calendar!
Bali Life Street Kids Centre
It is with great pleasure that we announce the start of our Bali Life Street Kids Centre. Recently we have started a partnership with the Safe Childhoods Foundation who are targeting child trafficking in Indonesia. Safe Childhoods have been running a Street Kids Centre for 4 years and have seen their vision move away from street children and onto child protection, advocacy for children at risk and rehabilitation for victims. Due to this change in direction Safe Childhoods have handed over their Street Kids Centre to the Bali Life Foundation. It is with great excitement and vision that we take on this project. We would like to thank all the recent donors and people who helped through our recent Street Kids Day Fundraiser and of course, Safe Childhoods, for making this dream a reality. For more information please see our website http://www.balilife.org/programmes/streetkids.aspx.
Bali Life Women’s Centre
The Women's Program recently changed its name to the Bali Life Women's Centre. The new name allows us to incorporate many different programs under the one name. We have had amazing blessings occurring almost daily at our centre including community support and much needed funds for rent and operational costs. We have also had a number of highly skilled professional women coming to us to offer their support by volunteering long-term with us. A number of local businesses have offered to train our women in July. We have recently started a community computing class and our English classes are going really well. We are very thankful for the generous support so far and look forward to more partnerships into the future.
