October 5, 2018
Welcome to the first #FourThoughFriday for October. This week, we're firing on all cylinders, as we head into the long weekend. As always, I encourage you to discuss the content below on social media, using the hashtag #FourThoughtFriday. Thank you for reading and please enjoy!
1. An article I'm reading —
I'm a big fan of Jennifer Gonzalez and her blog, Cult Of Pedagogy. In an old article, which recently crossed my Twitter feed, Jennifer discusses why we all need to see each other teach and what lessons we can learn from this important practice.

2. A poem I'm reading —
This beautiful poem was shared to me by a friend and I think it speaks well to the noble work we all do. One of my favorite parts is:
"The work of the world is common as mud.
Botched, it smears the hands, crumbles to dust.
But the thing worth doing well done
has a shape that satisfies, clean and evident."

3. An app I'm using —
In the past, Apple has been the go-to brand for accessibility. However, with the all new Voice Access app, Google has made its Android platform more accessible than ever. This app is so powerful, it even works well for people who don't have a disability.

4. A book I've gone back to —
I have recently experienced a renewed interest in Jim Knight's work on instructional coaching. As part of my research, I have gone back to re-read one of my favorite books of his, called Better Conversations: Coaching ourselves and each other to be more credible, caring, and connected by Jim Knight
If you'd like to further discuss any of the above or have some thoughts of your own, tweet me @techcoachz. Be sure to include the hashtag #FourThoughtFriday!
