What happened to Bitsquare?
Bitsquare is a decentralized bitcoin exchange. They were threatened with a lawsuit or something by the payment processing company called Square. Bitsquare (Manfred Karrer, basically) decided to change their name and crowdsourced ideas. They settled on bisq
, although they haven't yet changed their domain name, and may not need to do so. I've been considering getting involved with the coding of the software.
In a decentralized exchange, you only receive what some other trader sends you, so the Bisq team is putting a lot of effort into protecting users from scammers. While exploring the issues
they face, I saw a recommendation to check out bitrated.com
and invite you to vouch for me
if you're already on there. If not, consider joining, especially if you have a 100% reputation on LBC, as I will probably vouch for you if we've recently traded.
is one of my favorite books, written by Nassim Taleb.
