Chancellor Riveros opened the Fifteenth International Congress of the Latin-American Association of Asia and Africa Studies

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Edgardo Riveros, opened today the Fifteenth International Congress of the Latin-American Association of Asia and Africa Studies (ALADAA), held at the Salón de Honor of the former Congreso Nacional. In his speech, the national authority emphasized on the existence of the ALADAA that acquires another resonance within the context of the globalization and which for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs academic work development  is very important. ABCC Victoria Networking Event - Rio Olympics 2016

Join our friends at the Chamber of Commerce Australia - Brazil Inc (ABCC) and Mission 2016 of the Australian Olympic Team, Kitty Chiller in Victoria for a network event to be held at Río 2016.

Seventh International Electronic Symposium on Chinese Politics

The International Electronic Symposium on Chinese Politics is an initiative of the Observatory of Chinese Politics. It is annually held, at the same time as the annual sessions of the APN and the CCPPCh between 1 - 21 March. It is structured in three items: politics, economy and society, security and defense and foreign relations. One week is devoted to each of this subject area. (News in spanish).

Presentation of the book of Dieter Ernst, "Global Production Networks. The Case of China", CECHIMEX, Wednesday,  3 February,  10 a.m.

On Wednesday, 3 February, at 10 a.m, we will initiate the Ciclo de Conferencias del Cechimex (Conferences Cycle of the Cechimex) with the presentation of the book by Dieter Ernst and result of the Mexico-China Extraordinary Chair called "Global Production Networks. University course about China

The Escuela de Estudios Orientales  (School of Eastern Studies) provides information about the course "Estudios sobre China contemporánea" (Studies about contemporaneous China), whose enrolment is open  (classes will begin in April). (News in spanish).

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges Panamanian students to use scholarships offered by China (Taiwan)

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is pleased to inform that the Fondo para la Cooperación y el Desarrollo Internacional (TaiwanICDF) is offering the scholarship “International Higher Education Scholarship Programs 2016” for Panamanian students interested in studying in Taiwan. Courses are given in English and include BA, MD, and PhD courses. (News in spanish).

Executive Secretary of the ECLAC reviews cooperation activities with Senior Official of the Government of Japan

The Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Alicia Bárcena, had a meeting today at the Headquarters of the organization, in Santiago de Chile, with the Director General of the Directorate of Latin America and the Caribbean Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Yasushi Takase, in order to exchange views on the regional and international situation and review the joint cooperation activities. El Salvador and Japan sign cooperation agreements in health and drinking water areas

The Vice-Minister of Cooperation for the Development, Jaime Miranda Flamenco, participated today, as honor witness, in the signature of three cooperation agreements between the Governments of El Salvador and Japan, for the execution of projects, in the health and drinking water area, to be developed in the departments of Santa Ana and La Paz. Mission of the Vice-Chancellor of Japan strengthens bilateral agenda and promotes extended channel

At the beginning of his official mission in Japan, the Vice-Chancellor Luis Miguel Hincapié had important meetings with governmental representatives and the Japanese private sector, with the main goal of promoting foreign investment in the country and tourism, as well as promoting and renewing agreements strengthening the exchange in areas such as: trade, services sector, technology and culture. During this visit the preparations for the visit of the President Juan Carlos Varela on the first half of 2016 were coordinated. (News in spanish).

Intense work agenda ends in Japan

Within the framework of his visit to Japan, the Vice- Chancellor Luis Miguel Hincapié had important meetings for the promotion of the “Hub de las Américas”. The Diplomat had a meeting with the Vice-President of the  Division of Alliance and International Affairs of All Nippon Airways Co., (ANA English acronym), Koji Shibara, whom he expressed the interest of Panama in establishing a direct flight between Tokyo and the Isthmus, which he repeated in a courtesy visit to the President of such entity. Head of Communications establishes strategic alliances in China-Taiwan

Taiwan- strategic Alliances focused on strengthening the communication practices, the brand positioning and prevention projects were established by the Head of the Gabinet of Communications and Strategy, Hilda Hernández, during a tour throughout China-Taiwan. (News in spanish).


Ecuador signed a credit for 970 million dollars with the Bank of China

Quito (Pichincha).-The Ministry of Finances informed that Ecuador signed today, in Beijing, a credit for 970 million dollars with the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), the biggest financial entity in the world. (News in spanish).

Cuba and Japan exchange on the energy sector

On that occasion, the Cuban Minister was received by the Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, Mr. Tsuneo Kitamura, as part of the working program to be complied with during his stay in Japan. (News in spanish).

Chile realizes progresses for agricultural sendings to China

This weeks, a public and private delegation headed by the Minister of Agriculture, Carlos Furche, is in a visit in the Asian country in order to promote sundry Chilean goods such as cherries and blueberries, and also in order to hold working meetings with Chinese authorities so as to extend the existing agreements. Scope of China-Chile FTA to expand further

China and Chile are holding conversations to extend the 10 years free trade agreement between both parties, in order to enhance the trade of agricultural goods and develop logistics and financial services, according to Chilean officials on 27 January.
