The Latin American - Asia Pacific Observatory invites to the second academic seminar “Exploring spaces for the productive integration between Latin America and Asia Pacific”, which will be held on 8 and 9 July 2015 at the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, (ECLAC), in Santiago de Chile.

The Coordinator of the Latin America – Asia Pacific Observatory, Dr. Ignacio Bartesaghi, participated, as a lecturer, in the seminar “América Latina: Reflexiones entre la convergencia en la diversidad” (“Latin America: Reflections between convergence in diversity”). Such event was organized by the Embassy of Chile in Buenos Aires and Pro – Chile, on Monday, 11 May, 2015, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Visit of the Coordinator to the Ambassadors of the ASEAN in Buenos Aires
The Coordinator of the Latin American - Asia Pacific Observatory, Dr. Ignacio Bartesaghi, visited the Ambassadors of the ASEAN in Buenos Aires on 11 and 13 May 2015. In particular, he had meetings with Ambassador of Indonesia Jonny Sinaga, the Ambassador of Malaysia Mohd Ashri Bin Muda, Ambassador of Philippines Ma. Amelita C. Aquino, and Ambassador of Vietnam Thao Nguyen Dinh. The Coordinator did not manage to make an appointment with the Ambassador of Thailand due to the fact that he was abroad. The ASEAN has only 5 representations in Buenos Aires.
Visit of the Coordinator to the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella
The Coordinator of the Latin American - Asia Pacific Observatory, Dr. Ignacio Bartesaghi, visited Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, in Buenos Aires, where he was received by Dr. Mario Turzi, Director of the Program of Studies of Asia Pacific.
This document, prepared by the ECLAC during the visit to its Headquarters in Santiago of Li Keqiang, Prime Minister of China (25 May 2015), analyzes the main elements of the international economic context in which Latin America and the Caribbean and China are, the ongoing progresses and challenges of the economic reforms process in this country and a panorama of the trade relations and investment between the region and China. The final pages offer some reflections and recommendations so as to enhance the economic links between both players.

Argentinian companies participated in the most important fair of food and beverages of Asia
SIAL fair ended on May 8 in Shanghai with the participation of 44 Argentinian companies, the most important trade event of food and beverages of Asia. The presence of the Argentinian retinue was coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Fundación Exportar, with the Federal Investment Council (FIC) and the Institute for the Promotion of the Bovine Argentinian Meat (IPCVA). The Argentinian delegation also included officials of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Nation and the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA).
