The Latin America - Asia Pacific Observatory invites to participate in the presentation of the book “Explorando espacios para la integración productiva entre América Latina y Asia Pacífico” on 23 August 2016, at 9:30 a.m., at the General Secretariat of the ALADI in Montevideo.
Asia Week: “The Pacific Alliance as an Instrument of Internationalization”
The Coordinator of the Observatory, Dr. Ignacio Bartesaghi, will participate in the tenth version of the “Asia Week” of the Universidad EAFIT, annual international event to be held on 17 and 18 August, in Medellín, Colombia. This year, the main issue of the event will be: “The Pacific Alliance as an Instrument of Internationalization”.
"International seminar: the decrease of China and its impact on Latin America"
The Coordinator of the Observatory, Dr. Ignacio Bartesaghi, will participate in the "International seminar: the decrease of China and its impact on Latin America", to be held at the Instituto de Estudios Internacionales de la Universidad de Chile, on Thursday, 13 October, and has the sponsorship of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Regional Program of Social Policies in Latin America (SOPLA).

Result of the International Cooperation, 57 municipalities received garbage trucks
The International Cooperation managed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs resulted in the delivery of compacting trucks for the garbage removal of 57 municipalities of the country, coming as a gift of the Republic of China (Taiwan). (News in Spanish)
Foreign Ministry hosts Korea-Latin America Partnership Forum
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted the “2016 Korea-Latin America Partnership: Towards a Shared Vision for Future Cooperation” event in Seoul from June 29 to July 1, bringing together high-level government officials from ten Latin American countries, academic experts, delegates from regional organizations and young Koreans who have successfully built their presence in Latin American countries.
Honduras and China (Taiwan) sign Technical Cooperation Agreement
The Secretariat of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (SFAIC) of Honduras and the Republic of China (Taiwan) signed, on 1 July of this year, a Technical Cooperation Framework Agreement, that will contribute to the economic and social development of the nation, according to the priorities of the country. Korean Foreign Minister´s first-ever visit to Cuba
Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se, as a first-ever visit by Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea, visited on June 4 and 5 Cuba, a country that the ROK has no diplomatic relations with, to attend a Summit of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS). On the occasion, he met with Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez of Cuba, the host of the ACS Summit.
Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs inspects cargo scanners donated by China
Vice-Minister Alejandro Solano participated, with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Song Yanbin, in a joint inspection of the two scanners, installed in Puerto Limón, for cargo register non-intrusively, held by Costa Rica and donated by such country years ago. (News in Spanish)

Foreign Minister Meets with a Former President of Chile

Costa Rica and China consolidate Strategic Alliance

Wang Yi Holds Talks with Foreign Minister Manuel Gonzalez Sanz of Costa Rica
Wang Yi expressed that Costa Rica is an important cooperative partner of China in Central America. China is willing to join hands with Costa Rica to further promote exchanges between government departments, legislative bodies and political parties of both countries, expand bilateral trade and investment, enhance cooperation in such fields as agriculture, infrastructure and clean energies, broaden people-to-people and cultural exchanges and seek closer multilateral coordination.
Panama and Japan spoke about cooperation for the waste disposal
Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Luis Miguel Hincapié had, this morning, a meeting with the Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan and Deputy of the Low Chamber of the Japanese Parliament, Hitoshi Kikawada, in an official visit to Panama, where they dealt with cooperation and assistance issues that Japan could give to Panama as regards the solid waste disposal in order to take advantage of the experience and good practices of the Asian country. Panama and Korea strengthen bilateral relations
