West Australian Hospitality Wins WorldSkills Silver Medals

The winners of the WorldSkills Competition held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre were recently announced. Congratulations to FutureNow Hospitality Ambassador chef Chris Malone on taking home the silver medal in the Cookery section. Read more.


Major Changes to VET System Announced by Commonwealth

Federal Minister for Industry, Ian Macfarlane MP recently announced the second set of major reforms for Australia's VET system. Read more.


HGT Taste of the Future School Cooking Competition

Congratulations to the winner and finalists in the Taste of the Future Schools Cooking Competition coordinated by Hospitality Group Training. The competition is open to Year 11 and 12 students in WA schools and aims to raise awareness and promote chef apprenticeships to secondary school students. Read more.

Geoff Franklin, Apprentice of the Year and (now) qualified chef from Crown Perth, and Taylor Wood, School-based Apprentice of the Year through Hospitality Group Training and hosted at Matilda Bay recently won their respective categories at the 2014 WA Training Awards. Read more
