Growth For God's Glory!

In 2016 Abogar has begun a Capital Campaign! We sense God leading us to begin raising funds specifically for a piece of property and/or building for Abogar Guatemala to be able to provide homes and family for precious children.

In the last few weeks some different options have opened up to Abogar to consider property. However, we will need to have raised the funds and have them on hand to be able to purchase property in Guatemala.

Our goal for 2016 is to raise $50,000. Please prayerfully consider if God is inviting you to invest in our Capital Campaign. Funds can be donated here. Please be sure to specify that your designation is for the Capital Campaign! Help us to build for the glory of God!

Note from Abogar's President

Dear Friends,

August was a month full of great activity and movement for Abogar! I was blessed to spend significant time representing Abogar in Pennsylvania... doing fundraisers, sharing in several speaking opportunities, connecting with longstanding and new donors and prayer supporters, and taking a couple of opportunities to fish and relax! It was an incredible time of reconnecting with lots of great friends and supporters; as well as having many opportunities to share about Abogar and advocate for the precious children of Latin America.

I also had a whirlwind trip out to California to participate in the Called To Care Conference (August 13th); a regional conference (first year) to unite those ministering to children in foster care, in the adoptive care, and to children who are orphaned, abandoned, abused, living in the street, and/or at risk! It was an amazing day, and the conference was very informative and great for connecting with other ministries in SoCal!

I returned back here to Guatemala on the 24th of August and have been running since my feet hit the ground! Last Saturday, August 27th, I was blessed with the opportunity to lead an Abogar Guatemala meeting with a great team that God has been raising up to help us move forward. We had a very unity-filled meeting! I am excited to watch how God will be using this team here in Guatemala.

As I get back into the swing of working with the youth group at church, reaching out to and partnering with other organizations, and developing Abogar Guatemala's team, I am greatly encouraged by how God is moving Abogar forward. We are laying a great foundation, and I am believing that we are going to see some incredible growth and results for our labors soon! It is exciting serving God and watching Him work in marvelous and miraculous ways!

To all our supporters, thank you for continued prayer support and financial support for both me and for Abogar! You are investing in eternal rewards! Words can not say 'Thank you!' enough, but one day Jesus will! But for now, I still want to again say... THANK YOU!!

Child Highlight:

Marta

(The name used is a pseudonym for purposes of confidentiality.)

Age: 3 yrs, 11 months
Sex: Female
Location: San Lucas Sacatepequez, Guatemala
School: "Special Kids" Center for Early Childhood Stimulation and Special Needs

Marta is a lovely little girl who has a difficult family life. Her father is incarcerated at this time and not present in her life. Marta and her mother live in the house of some relatives in a very small room. Her mother is young and confused and has a tendency to act violently toward other family members. For this reason the two of them spend much of their time in their small room.

Please pray for:
  1. God to make Himself known to Marta as her Heavenly Father and to be protected from feeling isolated and abandoned.
  2. Marta to enjoy her time at school with the teachers and other children; to be gifted with academic and social understanding and wisdom.
  3. Marta's mother and father, that they would come to know the love of Christ's, of the sacrifice He made for them and to experience freedom through the Truth.
