for pre-schools and nurseries

Can you help to support Hoople's
traineeship programmes?

Traineeships are Government backed programmes that are available to young people aged 16-24 who are not in work, education or already on a training programme.

Essentially, traineeships are pre-apprenticeship programmes that enable participants to try out a work environment they're interested in, without having to make a long term commitment.

Unlike apprenticeships, learners are not paid during their time on the traineeship programme so there is no charge to employers to support a learner. However, the learner will be gaining valuable experience and knowledge that will help them to decide whether or not they would like to build a career in a particular environment.

Participants can choose to try out any vocational pathway. However, childcare is a particularly popular choice and we are approaching you to see if you are able to offer a placement.

The traineeship will last for seven weeks (beginning in mid-September) with a total of around 14 days being spent on placement. The number of days spent each week on placement will vary from one to four days per week, dependent upon the stage of the programme. The remainder of the time will be spent in the classroom at Hoople's training centre in Hereford.
