Introducing new team members

This month, we are pleased to confirm the appointment of four new members of our Training and Education team. Our Health and Social Care delivery team has recently been joined by assessors Alice Deacon and Christina Harper, while Sarah Ellis joins the team as a mandatory trainer. We are delighted to welcome them all on board.

Sally Ware, new Functional Skills Tutor at HoopleWe're also thrilled to introduce our new Functional Skills tutor, Sally Ware. Sally spent many years in business in Directorship and Company Secretary roles, before retraining as an English tutor, including studying for a CTLLS qualification (Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector) with Hoople.

During this time Sally worked for Hereford College of Arts teaching Functional Skills (English and Maths) and GCSE English. In addition, she became Course Leader for the Contact Course (SEN students). Sally has also worked as an English Teacher at an independent school for children aged 11 – 16 with social, emotional and mental health problems.

With Sally's appointment, we look forward to consolidating and growing our capacity for Level 2 functional skills training. For more information, please contact our Training team.

Hoople listed on Register
of Apprenticeship Training Providers

Hoople Training and Education has received confirmation that it has been accepted onto the Skills Funding Agency’s (SFA) register of apprenticeship training providers (RoATP).

This new registration process is part of the Government’s aim to drive up the quality and quantity of apprenticeships. The RoATP has been introduced by Government also to give assurance to employers and apprentices that providers have the capacity and capability to deliver good quality apprenticeship training.

Inclusion on the register means that from 1 May 2017, Hoople Training and Education can continue to deliver apprenticeship training to employers who are liable to pay the new Apprenticeship Levy. An announcement regarding apprenticeship training provision for non-levy paying employers is expected in May.

The full list of apprenticeship providers can be found via the Government’s website.

Great turnout at Hoople/ACT forum

Hoople Training and Education recently welcomed around 30 guests from the health and social care sector to its Training Centre in Hereford for a Health and Social Care Forum, organised jointly with ACT (Association for Care Training).

The forum was organised to raise awareness of the significant changes affecting the way apprenticeships will be funded and run from April 2017. It was also an opportunity to let attendees know about the funding that is available to support development in the sector.

Further information about the changes to apprenticeships and the funding available can be obtained by emailing the Training team

If you would like to receive a copy of the presentation slides from the forum, please also contact the team.

How can an apprenticeship help my business?

If you're wondering what the benefits of employing an apprentice might be for your business, take a look at our new short video.

In the video, several local employers talk about how their businesses have benefited from apprenticeship programmes, and you hear from the apprentices too!

If you're still not sure if apprenticeships are for you, please email our Customer Service Lead, Dawn Haymonds, or call 01432 261562.
