I hope you are enjoying the warmer yet changeable weather and the wind down to Christmas - I certainly am, or soon will be!

Sculpture on the Peninsula
This wonderful show at Teddington on Bank Peninsula ran from 6-8 November.
Aaron Te Rangaio won first prize for his powerful installation '10 Green Bottles' and Hannah Kidd took out the Peoples Choice Award for her magnificient 'Golden Horse'

My pieces this year were 'Apis Infrastructure' an expansion of my People's Choice Award winning entry in the National Small Sculpture Prize and new works...

These works bring back irrational childhood fears from a simpler time.
The stuff of nightmares even though made from scrap and found objects or in a deteriorated state. In stark contrast to today's technology which creates elaborate monsters which leave nothing to the imagination.

Following their appearance at Sculpture on the Peninsula the Daleks invaded Little River on Show Weekend, infiltrating the local community and businesses...

A pair of Daleks have since decided to stay over in Little River and have taken up residence in the Little River Gallery Garden.

Little River Gallery Annual Group Show 'Cut & Run' with Blanche Fryer, Lilly Maetzig, Rae West and Lee-Ann Dixon, opening on 28 November.

My 'Bugs & Bees' in this show are inspired by my childhood fascination with insects - their detailed forms in miniature environments under our feet, their behaviours and life cycles. What is tiny has become giant, fleeting has become permanent , natural has become woman-made.
