I hope you had a wonderful summer break! We had a lovely Christmas and New Year with family and friends and are about to head off on a month long roadtrip to Sculpture events in the North Island.

Little River Gallery Summer Show
Some Photos of my work from the Little River Gallery Summer Show with Blanche Fryer, Lilly Maetzig, Rae West, Lee-Ann Dixon and others which ran until 17 February 2016.

My 'Bugs & Bees' in this show were inspired by my childhood fascination with insects - their detailed forms in miniature environments under our feet, their behaviours and life cycles.
What is tiny has become giant, fleeting has become permanent , natural has become woman-made.

Work from this show, including the Beehives, is still available at the Gallery or on Commission.

Sculpture in the Gardens - Auckland Botanic Gardens

My Dandelamps and Dandelights feature in the indoor exhibition at this years Sculpture in the Gardens which runs until 6 March 2016.

'Taraxucum Forest' an installation of 12 Dandelions will feature in the Kaipara Coast Exhibition 2016 'Under Kaipara Skies' which runs until late this year.

Wharepuke Sculpture Park - Northland
A 'Stop the Clock' group of 5 large Dandelions have been installed at the newly established Wharepuke Sculpture Park in Keri Keri until September 2016.

We will also be installing a 'Stop the Clock' group of 5 large Dandelions at the Shapeshifter Sculpture Exhibition at the Dowse Art Museum in Lower Hutt and my Dandelights will feature in the Daily Display indoor exhibition., This exhibition runs from 26 February - 20 March 2016.

Small Sculpture Prize
I am a finalist again this year in the National Small Sculpture Award with my piece "Emulate! Emulate!! Emulate!!!"

The portrait of 4 daleks reflected in a mirror uses images of our childhood fears to show the weakness of conformity and imitation in a standardised society vs the progress and growth created by individuality, freedom and imagination.
'Imitation cannot go above its model' - Ralph Waldo Emerson
This Award is held at the Waiheke Community Art Gallery and runs from 26 February - 21 March 2016.

Hang them inside, or outside in a tree...
