Factory Brixton

The Factory creative production hub for young people in Brixton launched in March with a programme of workshops and events. This animation shows the different configurations of the storage and display structure, which we assembled from industrial components and upcycled waste materials with the help of the apprentices at 198 Contemporary Arts and Learning.

Industrial Estate Gallery

The second phase of this gallery in an industrial district of Kuala Lumpur has just been completed. Next to a petrol station and surrounded by factory sheds, it is centred on a lush captured garden modelled on the surprising public spaces of the industrial estate. Read more.

Longfield Hall

We have been working with Longfield Hall Trust and a community consultation team to ensure that this historic hall in Camberwell - shown here in 1910 - can remain a community asset for years to come.

Work Club

We've recently finished a new collaborative workspace for the digital agency Havas Work Club. Rough and smooth materials are used to articulate zones for different modes of work. A primary structure of black studwork and raw OSB is clad with continuous whiteboards to create a series of spaces for concentration, teamwork, and presentations.

Furniture prototypes

A visit to the workshop making two new prototype furniture pieces - a room divider and library ladder in white steel frames with cast glass panels.

Our entry for the Guggenheim Helsinki competition; this drawing shows the new structure in relation to the harbour and the city.

On site in KL

The Hub office development has started on site in Kuala Lumpur. Here's a construction shot of the first phase building at the corner of the site from a couple of years ago.

Urban Farms

For the RIBA Imagine Bath competition, we proposed that Bath could rediscover its radical Enlightenment spirit to become agriculturally self-sufficient. We are currently working with urban food start-up Article No.25 on projects for mushroom farms in disused basements and greenhouses on under-used rooftops across London.

Rural industry

Our students in Studio 8 at the Cass have been exploring rural industry in the South Downs National Park with input from guest critics, a workshop with the New Economics Foundation, and visits to industrial estates in London, Lewes, and Northern Italy.

We're working on the refurbishment of a former dock warehouse in Bermondsey, which includes a new passageway through the block linking the street with the old wharf, paved in granite and terrazzo.

On the drawing board - an affordable housing block in Asia. The naturally-ventilated units are split into four different volumes, with a shared garden on the podium.

We made these timber models of some of the key post-independence civic buildings in KL as part of our research for the Hub.

The Hand Car Wash project was shown at UCL's Cities Methodologies exhibition, and the UK launch for THE VISUAL EVENT was held at X Marks the Bökship in November.

London Festival of Architecture

We will be exhibiting our work in progress and research work in the 'Teaching Practices' show as part of the London Festival of Architecture.
