Stony Brook University’s Department of Computer Science and the Career Center have teamed up again to host CS Tech Day.  This year, the focus of CS Tech Day is CS Interface: Multimedia, VR, and Gaming in 2015. Employers, participants, and sponsors are welcome!

Computer Science (CS) has a new look this semester at Stony Brook University. In July Stony Brook University celebrated the official opening and all 70+ faculty/staff officially moved in, just in time for the fall semester.

Professors Scott Stoller and Yanhong Annie Liu, recently received a from the U.S. Navy Office of Naval Research for their research project on Algorithm Diversity for Resilient Systems.

For his work in the field of computer accessibility, Stony Brook University’s Yevgen Borodin has been recognized by MIT Technology Review on its Innovators Under 35 annual list as a humanitarian in the Internet and Web category.

Arie E. Kaufman, Chair of Computer Science, is working with Stony Brook University’s Cancer Center and Johns Hopkins University Hospital to explore the use of virtual reality in pancreatic cancer research.

Leman Akoglu, NSF CAREER Recipient and Assistant Professor of Computer Science, recently received a Facebook Faculty Gift for her research in the area of graph mining.

The scientific research journal Scientific Reports, published by Nature, highlights the cancer cell research of CS professor Allen Tannenbaum from Stony Brook University..
