ESN Finland's Section of the Month

To give a little insight of our amazing local sections, the NB randomly selects one section each month to share a little something of themself with all the ESNers in Finland in our monthly newsletter. The first section of the month is ESN INTO Tampere from the Tampere University of Technology and here is their story:

“I wasn’t aiming to be the superfuksi. “

It all started over a year ago in a karaoke night, continued in a mixed but delicious international food party, in a pub crawl, in a welcoming sauna, in a kyykkä tournament, in sewing parties! Yes, sewing!  A cottage weekend with a hot (really hot) tube in the middle of the woods under minus many degrees. Meeting young Finns and school teachers thanks to Erasmus in Schools.  A movie night, board game night, ice-fishing, more saunas, sitsits, trips with challenges, singing (a lot of singing)… a never ending list of events and activities that ESN INTO section organize for exchange students, because they do give all of their best to make our exchange period one of the best times of our lives. And because of that, I wanted to be part of it and joined this AWESOME section where, of course, we organized the best NEP meeting of the history! NEPparit!

“My only plan was to join and do everything possible to immerse myself in the Finnish and student culture. I wanted to know it better. I wanted to be part of it. And ESN INTO made it possible.”

by Agnès Arcarons, Superfuksi 2012-2013 in ESN INTO
