Calling all green fingers!
On Saturday 28th July, you can enter your prize winning Summer Fruit, Vegetables and Flowers in our competition at the Tithe Barn. All ages are welcome as there are both Adult and Child Categories in ‘Summer Fruit’, ‘Summer Veg, ‘Flowers’ and ‘Ugly Veg’.
Bring your entries along between 1pm and 2.30pm. Prize winners will be announced at 3.30pm by Judge Philip Whaites, National Trust Head Gardener. Alan Shipp, Custodian of the National Collection of Hyacinths, will also be on-hand to offer horticulture tips.
Our thanks go to Scotsdales garden centre, in Horningsea, for donating incredibly generous prizes for the competition winners. Every child entrant will receive a certificate and small prize. The unique medieval timber frame Tithe Barn will be open during the afternoon to view from 1pm till 4.30pm, plus refreshments will be available too. Admission to all our events is free, but donations are of course welcome towards the restoration of the Tithe Barn.
