The Tithe Barn Trust believes the medieval Tithe barn, with thatched roof, brick threshing floor and timber granary, to be unique to Cambridgeshire and even of national significance. It is one of the few Tithe Barns in the country still standing next to its medieval rectory. Over 90% of Tithe Barns in the UK have been converted and their historic features are being lost forever. Sadly, the Landbeach Tithe Barn is in a poor condition and deteriorating.

You can help our restoration quest by sponsoring a sheaf for as little as £5 at

Your donations will make a real difference. The more donations we receive from the public, the more likely our grant applications will be successful. So in this case, every little really does help. Show your support today.

Thanks Volunteers

We’ve held several ‘Outdoor Gym’ sessions so far and our thanks have to go to all our volunteers for their energy and time they’ve freely given.

We cleared the long track to the Tithe Barn, improved the significant stretch of old hedge and widened the path. This enabled us to sow a wildflower rich seed mix along its verge, which in time should bring about the joys of ox-eyed daisies, yarrow and buttercups. We also managed to clear vegetation and ivy covering the barn to its north/west and southern facade, exposing the plinth of the building, highlighting areas in need of repair. In the autumn we re-opened the western large barn doors after vegetation clearance and found further areas of decay.

If you’d like to get involved and help, come along to our next session on Saturday 10th February. Details below.
Outdoor gym – Saturday 10th Feb, 10am-1pm

Get active and involved and help us tidy the hedge and grass track to the Tithe Barn. The session will be led by our very own Landscape Architect and Horticulturalist. Wear sturdy shoes, gloves and warm clothing. Bring your own secateurs and shrub cutters or there will be a few provided. The barn will be open for those who would like to take a peek too.

The entrance to the Tithe Barn is along a grass track opposite 2 Waterbeach, Rd, Landbeach, CB25 9FA.
