Greetings from STELAR,

This month we focus on dissemination, a key piece of work for ITEST projects. Our Monthly Highlight, Dissemination Strategies 2.0, features resources to support your efforts as well as examples and descriptions of how STELAR can help.

Included among these materials is our newest ITEST Data Brief: ITEST Dissemination Strategies, an infographic-rich examination of what practices projects employed in 2014-2015.

We also remind you to join us on 2/28 at 3 pm for Stories from ITEST - Culturally Competent Projects that Inspire Young People to Pursue STEM Careers, a webinar on our ITEST Journal of Science Education and Technology special issue. Hear from a selection of the issue's authors and ask your questions about this work.

As the Spring conference season begins, please send us your presentations about your ITEST project at any upcoming conference! We would love to include it in a compilation of ITEST presentations occurring in 2017, to be shared with NSF and the rest of the community. Please email by March 28 with information about your presentation and/or the presentation's public URL.

Finally, we would like to thank the 28 ITEST projects who have registered to present during the 2017 STEM for All Video Showcase! We look forward to seeing your videos and taking part in the event on May 15-22

Stories from ITEST: Culturally Competent Projects that Inspire Young People to Pursue STEM Careers
February 28, 3-4 pm ET

Join STELAR Co-PI Carrie Parker and authors from the recent ITEST special issue published in the Journal of Science Education and Technology (JOST) as they discuss the issue and their contributions. The authors will describe a multitude of approaches to project design, evaluation, and empirical research with respect to cultural competency.

Collectively, the issue contributes to the development of frameworks for STEM education and workforce development that are increasingly relevant for educators, project designers, researchers, and policy makers. We hope that you will attend, and bring your questions!

Next Generation STEM Learning for All

Monthly Highlight:

ITEST proposals are required to include a communication strategy for disseminating project findings, with an emphasis on reaching broad audiences including scholars, practitioners, policymakers and the public. But what methods are best for extending the broadest reach? What can STELAR do to synthesize and amplify these findings?

In this highlight we explore the strategies that projects have used, including specific samples of projects' dissemination work, and how STELAR can support these efforts.
