EXCITING NEWS

DECEMBER UPDATE

Hi! Thank you so much for reading my newsletter.

First of all, remember me? I didn't think so, it's been so long since I sent one of these. To refresh your memory, at some stage you have clicked on the 'subscribe' button on my blog which is why you are receiving this. Things have changed.

Let me tell you how excited I am to be sending you this email. For many of you, this is the first newsletter that you will have received from me. And for those who have been getting my newsletters, you'll notice some differences, I hope! In case you've been wondering what I've been doing and why you haven't heard anything from me, for the last twelve months, my life has taken somewhat of an incredible turn and I have been 'nose to the grindstone' busy.

I know that originally you signed up to hear about where I am teaching my art classes and what I'm up to with my fabric art and I know that once you have read this you may want to hit the unsubscribe button below, and I fully understand, but I am hoping that most of you will join my journey and have some fun with me along the way - especially if you enjoy a good book!

I have been working on my second novel. A story about a young New Zealand lad who goes to the Vietnam War and how that impacts on his life. Over the last few years, I've found my writing has filled every waking hour, as I walk, and in some cases RUN through my story side by side with my characters.

It has been a life-long dream to write and I feel honoured that so many people not only wanted to read my first book, A tide too high, but loved it and left amazing 5-star reviews. I plan on making the next book just as good, if not better.

However there is always some sad news and that is that I've decided I just can't manage everything right now so I will no longer be sending out a newsletter that is dedicated to my art related pursuits. Of course, that's not to say I still won't let you know where I'm teaching or what I'm up to!

Instead I will be sending out a newsletter every month with news and views, hopefully a few interviews, and some lovely give-aways. Mostly book related, but some arty news as well. And because it's Christmas and I love giving, I decided why not start with a give-away in this newsletter? So check out the give-away below.

A couple of weeks ago I flew to Vietnam to do some research for my latest book, The Nam Legacy, I brought back a few goodies to share. In January when I write my next newsletter, I will draw a name from all those who are subscribed to my newsletter to win one of my funky cool 'only from Vietnam' tee shirts! It's a truely quirky Vietnam classic and only available in that country. I have it in two sizes, so you'll get to pick which one you want!

So what do you need to do to enter the competition? Absolutely Nothing! Just leave your name on my mailing list. That's it and you could win this brand new tee shirt!

I'd like to once again say a huge thank you to those of you who are coming along for the journey with me. If you ever want to get in touch, drop me an email, (the address is below), or pop on over to my author Facebook page, I would love to meet you.

If you're travelling these holidays or you just want something interesting to read, don't forget to check out my book A tide too high. You can buy the paperback or ebook here, or if you would like a signed copy, drop me an email and I'll only to be happy to send you a copy for NZ$20 plus postage.

With only one week left till Christmas Day, when that jolly round man brings us good cheer, I hope you all have a safe and relaxing Christmas holiday. Please be kind to one another and I will see you again in January!

Merry Christmas,
Carole xx
