HERO's NEW Parking Lot Policy Begins January 6th, 2019
HERO has worked with a professional security person along with other local officials to find a way for our parking lot to be more safe for the students crossing between the two buildings. Beginning on January 6, 2019, we will have a one way entrance into the parking lot and a one way exit. You will have a map in your mailbox at HERO with parking instructions and also there will be one posted on our website under "INFORMATION."
We will be blocking the entrance into the parking lot next to the main church building. The only entrance into the parking lot will be the entrance next to the Activity building.
FLOW - The idea is to have ALL cars come in the south entrance, pass through lane 1 where the entrance to the Activity building is located. Dropping off or continuing through to the north exit off Broadway. Cars are able to turn down lane 4 to drop off at church if needed & circle back to lane 3 to continue out. Most cars will drop off by church overhang allowing kids to have a safer crosswalk.
Remember that this is a drop off area. This is not a place where you can sit and wait for your children. We need to keep the traffic moving so that other cars can come in and drop off their students.
The assigned HERO Parking Lot volunteer will be positioned outside the Activity building. They will greet the parents and students, makingeye contact, assure safety of students & answer any questions for the church or HERO. Being present for the kids crosswalk when they are crossing & a car is approaching, being a greeter by assisting with the door when teachers, students & moms have their hands full, helping the heating & cooling of the building so doors are not held open. Assist the playground as you can hear & be the first responded if an incident were to occur. It is sheltered from the weather, inside is close for cold days, AND it is the highest spot in the lot that allows you to see over the parking lot for suspicious activity & added safety.
All large vehicles including Suburbans, pick-up trucks, over sized vans, etc. will need to park in rows, J, K, L, and M. See map for more details. Students who drive themselves to HERO must park in rows H and I. There is designed parking for the HERO teachers in rows A, B, and F.
Note that there is a "No Parking" zone next to the main church building, at the bottom of the ramp, under the tree. This has become a popular spot for parents to park and wait for their students to come out of the church building.
The purpose of this new policy is the safety of our children. It is going to be an adjustment for all of us and for the Crossroads Church staff. We appreciate your help in making this a smooth transition.
