Graduation Participant Meeting CANCELLED TOMORROW THE 29th!
Due to the poor weather conditions expected on Tuesday, January 29th, the Graduation planning meeting. Note that all Applications for Graduation along with full payment are needed by February 5th, 2019.
• Cost: HERO graduates $125 (registered for a minimum of one class each semester).
• Cost for HERO graduates $175 (registered for classes for only 1 semester)
• Cost for Non-HERO graduates, $225 (not registered for classes at HERO)
Please read attached agenda fully, paying attention to dates and deadlines. Please note that seniors must sign up for a recording time slot. These time slots are in the late afternoon with Jayne and she can do some in the early morning if necessary (8:30 - 9:30 am) but the bulk of them will be from 4:00 - 5:30 PM.
These items need to be picked up in the office of the Activity building no later than February 5 and returned no later than February 12th.
Senior yearbook page available for your student to pick up in the office of the Activity Building.
A master diploma form that you will need to fill out.
I will need the height of your student so that we can order the graduation gowns.
March 12th – Third Graduation Planning Meeting
April 1st & 8th– Graduate Recording Days (sign-ups at planning meetings)
May 21st– HERO Graduation for class of 2019
HERO SCHOOL CLOSING POLICY
If Forest Lake public school is cancelled due to poor weather conditions (this does not include late starts or closing early), HERO will cancel our classes. You should receive communication in four different ways.

Course Add/Drop Deadline for Second Semester
The final day to make any changes to your student's class schedule is January 29th, 2019. Please note that there are no class refunds. You may exchange one class for another class, or add additional classes to your students schedule up to January 29th. Registration forms can be found on our FORMS page on the HERO website.
Students who would like a retake picture, are to bring their original picture package with them; that will ensure the correct order is printed for their retake picture. You can order your picture package online or pay that day. All payments are made out to Life Touch.

BOX TOPS collection Deadline! February 26th
We encourage you to collect BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION as an easy way to support HERO. Second semester deadline to turn in your Box Tops is February 25th and 26th. Simply cut Box Top labels from your store bought products and submit them:
1. Place your box tops in a plastic bag with your family name on it.
2. Place the bag in the B.T.F.E. box located in the HERO lobby of the Activity Center.
A grand prize will be presented to the family with the most Box Tops shortly after the deadline.
Box Tops can be found on many brand name products.
Triage - First Aid Certification Course
Tuesday, March 19⋅6:30 – 9:30pm - Cost is $30 per person. This is recommended for age 12 through adult
New Parking Lot Flow for HERO
PLUS PARKING LOT PATROL
The new parking lot system seems to be working well. The idea is to have ALL cars come in the south entrance, pass through lane 1 (next to the entrance of the Activity Center). Dropping off or continuing through to the north exit off Broadway.
No large/over sized vehicles(trucks, suburbans, 16 passenger vans, etc) or student's driving their own vehicles are allowed to park in the parking lot by the Activity Center. They will need to park in the parking spaces by the basketball hoops and near the main church building on the north side of the parking lot.
The parent position of Parking Lot Patrol is stationed outside of the Activity Center wearing a neon vest (provided by HERO). They should make eye contact, assure safety of students & answer any questions for the church or HERO. Being present for the kids crosswalk when they are crossing & a car is approaching, being a greeter by assisting with the door when teachers, students & moms have their hands full, helping the heating & cooling of the building so doors are not held open. Assist the playground as you can hear & be the first responded if an incident were to occur. It is sheltered from the weather, inside is close for cold days, AND it is the highest spot in the lot that allows you to see over the parking lot for suspicious activity & added safety.
