Houston, We Have a Pepperoni

One small step for man, one giant leap for mozzarella. Mixed space puns behind us, intergalactic-themed Bozzelli's Italian delicatessen is opening its second DC location next to Bangkok Joe's at Washington Harbour this spring. In addition to pizzas with names like Boom Boom Chicken and Meaty Boy, the menu will also feature cold cuts, Reubens, meatball subs, and more, plus salads and breakfast sandwiches. Bozzelli's 'pizza shop of the future experience' will also include a craft beer and wine program. Stay tuned for more as the waterfront location prepares for take-off.

Stop and Smell the Societal Pressure

Roses are red, violets are blue, it sucks when you have to give your own self flowers. While we're fine-tuning that Valentine's poem, check out the Make Your Own Bouquet pop-up Feb. 14 at Shop Made in DC. Stop by from 10 am - 8 pm and create a flower arrangement with florals from District Blooms DC -- whether you're giving it to yourself, or a significant other. The flower bar will feature several beautiful blooms priced per stem at no minimum or maximum. Handmade vases will also be available to purchase from Whim & Vigor (in limited quantity). If your significant other expects something for Valentine's Day, and you've waited until today to make plans, go ahead and assume you're gonna be free as a bird come February 14, 2021. So let's go out with a bang this year! More than 40 Georgetown businesses are offering Valentine's Day promotions and events -- from holiday-themed cookies, doughnuts and cupcakes, to three-course candlelit dinners, a champagne and pizza special, rosé bubbly tasting, and fun cocktails like 7 Minutes in Heaven and Spin the Bottle (hello, giant bout of 7th grade anxiety). Added bonus: Use the promo code VALENTINE10% through Feb. 16 and save 10% on Colonial Parking evening and weekend parking garage reservations. Visit our Valentine's Day page for all the details -- plus specials and promos for the friends in your life, too.

$5 If You Can Tell Us What 'BID' Stands For

And that includes some of our family members. From furniture in public plazas, to events like Georgetown GLOW and the French Market, and the friendly team of men and women who work hard to keep the streets clean year-round, you may not realize the Georgetown Business Improvement District is behind so much of the activity and programming in Georgetown. If you're interested in learning more about what we do both behind-the-scenes and out and about in Georgetown, visit our BID programs and initiatives page for info on our areas of work. There will be a quiz.

And speaking of all the great work the BID just so happens that voting is open for Washington City Paper's 'Best of D.C.' What a coincidence! Last year, we came in second place for Best BID / Main Street, and now we're hungry for first. Help us get to the top by voting today!
