Wake Us Up in a Few Years

We're hoping for somewhere around 2025 on the other side of this year's ball drop. Bring your magical thinking and join Tony & Joe's Seafood Place or Nick's Riverside Grill for their New Year's Eve Riverbash, Friday, December 31 at 9 pm along the Georgetown waterfront. Tickets are $120 and include heavy appetizer buffets, open top-shelf bar, a heated party tent, and entertainment. You must show proof of vaccination to attend. Get your tickets here.

Resolution: Remember Things

Low bar for 2022. If you're struggling to keep the year straight, let alone your next dentist appointment, it's time to kick it old school with a physical planner or calendar. One of our favorites is Duly Noted's Self Care Wall Calendar, full of positive motivators, assignments, and indulgences in vibrant, full-color illustrations. For something more compact, our pick is this Letterpress Desk Calendar from Paper Source, featuring 12 unique, letterpress designed artworks that are printed on textured paper, and include a wooden stand. It's also on sale! For other planner needs, or stationery to keep up with your snail-mail correspondence, you can also check out Shop Made in DC and Just Paper & Tea.

A Different Kind of New Year's Eve Ball Drop

You don't have to stand outside for eight hours and wear an adult diaper to watch this one go down in person. Ring in 2022 at Pinstripes' bistro, or out on the bowling lanes and bocce courts. A full dinner menu will be available, featuring favorites like lobster mac & cheese, chicken parmesan, cast-iron ribeye steak, and more. Complimentary champagne for adults and sparkling juice for children will be provided, along with party favors for all. Plus, live music from local artists Logan Smith & Dan Gallagher starts at 7 pm. The next morning, join them for their New Year’s Day Pajama Brunch, featuring a signature waffle station, carving station, sweets table, and more - plus bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys. Brunch is available from 10 am - 2 pm.

When Your Fitbit Registers You as Dead

If you're one more lazy, 100%-horizontal day away from a holiday break bedsore, we've got an activity to get your body up and moving. There's still a week left to participate in the DC Holiday Lights Scavenger Hunt for a chance to win great prizes from local businesses, including those in Georgetown. The more challenges you complete - such as taking a picture of yourself in front of a DC business decorated for the holidays - the more entries you earn. Once you've completed the first mission, you'll unlock the rest. While you're out, don't miss all of the Georgetown businesses along Wisconsin Avenue that are decorated as part of this year's Holiday Lights. A map is available here.
