Everyone hates Mondays. Poor Mondays get a bad rap! And most people are looking forward to the weekend.

What if we're approaching all of this totally wrong? What if, while we're out praying for and waiting for some great, mysterious, supernatural calling, it's sitting here staring us in the face?

Work is hard. We know it. We saw it was part of the Genesis disobedience deal - "toil and curse." If it wasn't hard no one would pay us for it.

But, work is important too. Contributing gives us a sense of purpose even if we're making widgets 10 hours a day, 6 days a week. We get something more than pay for work.

I felt like a total drain on everyone and everything when all I could do was lie around praying for a liver transplant to save my life. I went through major depression. My wife worried about me a lot.

Sunday morning we are going to begin looking at work, even retired work and disabled work, through different lenses to discover that God has a plan and purpose in all of it. The series is called "Made for Monday's" and I believe it might change some of our approaches and attitudes.

I hope you'll shake off the cold and cabin fever and come worship with us. We have an amazing privilege in that we are FREE to worship. So much of the world is crying out and suffering wishing they could join in worship with others. How strange that we take it for granted, put our feet up and skip the opportunity to join with the Church in the worship that our God loves so much.

Join us at 10. Come to worship God.

Have a great weekend,

Bring in Some Food on Sunday!

SOUPer Bowl! Even all of you non-sports fans can get into this one. We are again collecting canned good and food staples for the pantries we support but, we're having some fun with it. Sunday morning is your last chance to bring in some supplies and leave them near the logo of the team you think will win. Help restock community food pantries. Every little bit helps.

Cabin Fever Chili Cookoff

It's coming up next Sunday, February 10. Enter a chili or bring a side or dessert if you can. Lots of things go with chili. Hang out after our worship gathering and have some fun. Will Steve Verrill repeat as champion and win the Golden Ladle again?
