Women's Bible Study This Fall
Click the picture above to watch the intro video.

Good Shepherd Women’s Ministry is offering you an opportunity to learn and grow with the women of our church. We have designed a framework where everyone is encouraged to find a small group of people who will study together. In a small group of 3-6 people, we will be studying the book of Hebrews using a Bible study written by Jen Wilkin entitled Better. In this verse-by-verse study we will explore how God “provided something better for us” in the person of Jesus Christ (Heb. 11:40). Check out this video here!

Local Outreach Opportunities

THANK YOU for the overwhelming outpouring of generosity in responding to the local outreach opportunities. Here are a few more opportunities we are asking for this week.

  • We are collecting cards and/or pictures of encouragement for the First Responders.
  • The Gresham First Image Pregnancy Resource Center has requested some new or gently used fall/winter items for newborn to 18 months as well as new or gently used fall/winter maternity clothing (especially coats). You can bring items to the church office, purchase from the Local Outreach Wishlist or donate to the Gresham center directly here.
Local Outreach Wishlist

First Responder House
It’s time to restock the shelves in the First Responder House! Your food donation makes such a huge impact letting our officers know that we care and support them during these especially confusing, traumatic times. The house offers a place of solace and safety and you get to be a part of creating that atmosphere. Bring food donations to Good Shepherd's front office during the week clearly marked “First Responders”. If you prefer, you may also order from the Local Outreach Amazon Wishlist and have the items sent directly to the church! Requested items in order of need: bottled water, protein bars, meat products like jerky, pepperoni sticks, protein shakes/drinks, candy bars, frozen burritos, ice cream bars, cheese sticks, chips, cookies. Note: All food donations must be purchased as pre-packaged, individual portions. We cannot accept or use anything homemade or in quantity packaging.

Free Food Box Pick Up Has Moved to Mondays!

When: Pickup this Monday, 5-5:30pm
Where: GSCC campus
What: Thank you for signing up to "Bless your neighbors with free food boxes"! We will see you MONDAY between 5-5:30 pm at Good Shepherd Community Church (28986 SE Haley Rd, Boring, OR 97009).
This is such a great way to connect with and spread kindness to those God has placed in our life around us who may be experiencing hard times of various kinds.
The boxes are full of local, farm fresh groceries and may include things like milk, butter, swiss cheese slices, meat, onions, fruit, lettuce, potatoes or bread. This week we will also have available "I can help during self-isolation" cards to hand out with your boxes if you would like to offer that-- another simple but kind way to "be there" for our neighbors and tangibly share Jesus' love in these unprecedented times.
For those who have participated in previous weeks we LOVE to hear stories from food box deliveries - so please don't hesitate to share them with us!

Please sign up by this Sunday, and let us know how many boxes you would like to deliver to your neighbors so we can order them!!
