Newsletter February 2021

Welcome to the February edition of the Biddulph & Salenger newsletter.

A newsletter for clients, friends of the practice and special interest groups.

This is a free service and in this edition we have some topical articles written in a helpful, no-nonsense style with plenty of practical suggestions.

We hope you enjoy the articles.

Congratulations Matthew

Our practice manager, Matthew Paull, was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in July 2020.

On account of Covid 19 there was none of the pomp and pageantry of the usual Supreme Court admission ceremony such as illustrated. Just a simple email. But that is not to detract from the significance of his achievement.

Matthew has been with the firm since July 2007 as bookkeeper, office manager, para legal and general all rounder.

During the last 6 years, Matthew has attended law lectures at night following his full time duties in the office using his long train trips as study time. Despite such arduous hours he collected a few distinctions in his exam results along the way.

So he now adds a Diploma in Law to his PHD in philosophy. He will continue in his managerial/accounting roles but extend his involvement in legal matters. Perhaps not surprisingly given his accounting involvement, he has a particular interest in taxation law and provides articles of interest on his “LinkedIn” site.
