A big thank you to all of you who came along to my book launch at Whitley Bay library last month and helped to not only make it a sell out event but also gave me a huge boost of confidence in how I can manage the negative messages that my Post Traumatic Stress floods me with when under perceived stress. I know that some people couldn't make the event so I will be doing a much smaller event in the New Year and will of course give details of that once I know where and when it is.
The sales of the book are continuing and we do have some in the shop and I'm happy to sign copies. The cards of the book cover design are also still available both as single cards and packs of six, with all funds going to Rape Crisis Tyneside and Northumberland.
For those of you who did attend the event, you may be interested to hear that I am writing a new event that will be an illustrated talk on the journey I made from North Shields to Vladivostock by Rail. I will share the photographs and stories that I was privileged to be part of. Once again I will let you know when I have a date and venue for the event.
Christmas Opening Hours
As we head into the festive season the shop will now be open six days a week until Christmas. The hours will now be Tuesday – Saturday 9-5, Sunday 10 – 4.
St Mary's Christmas Fair
We will be joining in the fun at St Mary's Christmas Fair next weekend, as we use the hall for our larger workshops and have been made to feel very welcome by them. The Fair runs from 10 am to 1 pm on Saturday 18th November with all of the usual Church fair goodies on offer so we hope you can pop along and support the other groups and the church itself. For those of you who don't know where it is, it is just further along Ilfracombe Gardens heading away from the town centre, on Claremont Gardens.
Workshops have been booking up very quickly and selling out. By way of a thank you I am offering two workshops on Sunday 10th December at the reduced cost of £15, exclusively to our newsletter subscribers. The workshops run for 90 minutes an will be to decorate felted baubles that I have made. The early workshop runs from 5pm – 6.30 and the later one, 7pm – 8.30. You can book online for this or in person at the shop

Small Business Saturday - 2nd December
Small Business Saturday UK is a grassroots, non-commercial campaign, which highlights small business success and encourages consumers to ‘shop local’ and support small businesses in their communities.
The day itself takes place on the first Saturday in December each year, but the campaign aims to have a lasting impact on small businesses. In 2017 Small Business Saturday is on Saturday, December 2nd.
I always support this day as it is a great way to communicate with new and existing customers. This year I am offering a 10% discount to all of the newsletter customers, just mention 'Small Business Saturday', when you purchase over the weekend of Friday 1st Dec to Sunday 3rd Dec inclusive. There will be other offers on the day itself, so I hope you can call in.
