Creative Workshops

Finally, the first part of our new workshop list is out. I'm sorry this was not out sooner but I have discovered running the shop, the rest of our activities and writing a book take up more time than the average day permits. However, for all you lovely people who wish to get their creativity moving and growing the list is now available, with two new workshops and two favourites.

Felted Seal Workshop

The first new workshops feature one of our local Whitley Bay residents, the grey seals of St Mary's Island. I started my journey into wool sculpture with a dolphin, but here we have a cheerful little seal for you to come and make. It is suitable for beginners and I'm sure anyone could enjoy trying to make their own version of Delilah.

Felted Goddess Workshop

Our second new workshop involves making your own needle felted Goddess. Perhaps you would just like a little more positivity, or a bit of protection, that decision is yours, but in this workshop you are encouraged to charge your Goddess with the qualities you desire. This can be done using crystals, or perhaps a small writing or anything else of your choosing, which can be placed inside the goddess as you create her.

Poetry with Friends

Our fortnightly social poetry sharing groups continue to thrive. We have two meetings, one on a Thursday at Whitley Bay Library, in the St Mary's Room, upstairs on the 1st floor every other Thursday 11 am - 1 pm. Some of us write, some don't, but we are a friendly social group who welcomes anyone who might just need a bit of company or to help find a new friend or two. The sessions cost £4.50, which help to pay for room hire and the supply of tea/coffee biscuits at each session.

We also have an evening group which meets fortnightly on a Tuesday evening at St Paul's Parish Centre in Whitley Bay, 7 pm - 9 pm. This is run on the same basis.

Community Noticeboard

As some of you may have noticed we do have a community notice board in the gallery which accepts posters and notices for all things local. So if you belong  a club or society and have an even you would like to advertise bring us a copy. There is no charge for this and we may even help to get the word out on Social media for you.

Did someone say Social Media?

Yes, we do use social media, we are on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest and Instagram. You can connect with us and see what's new, interesting amusing or just my latest muse. Our Twitter and Instagram name is happyplanet_art otherwise we are Happy Planet Creative Arts it any wonder I struggle to remember all the passwords
