St. Brigit Community in Transition

June 11, 2019
For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord,
plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you a hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11

Please pray the following Prayer for Transition of Clergy Leadership as part of your daily devotions:

"Almighty God, giver of every good gift, look graciously on your Church and so guide the minds of those who shall choose an Interim Priest and a Vicar for this congregation that we may receive a faithful pastor who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries; through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen"

Stage Five: Adjustment

Issue:  Reality vs expectations
Emotional Content:  Frustration
Leadership Task:  Lead change, Manage conflict
Danger: Focus on the new priest’s personality or isolated areas of symbolic change
Icon: First Year Mutual Ministry Review

Stage Six:  Re-Visioning
Issue: Shared identity & Common Vision
Emotional content: Resolve the excitement
Leadership Task: Focus on Shared Vision
Danger: Distracted or Derailed by issues
Icon: Vision Celebration

The Transition Process: The search process follows the natural flow of transition that begins with the current vicar’s departure.  It continues through the new vicar’s or interim priest’s arrival, adjustment, and the first few years of ministry together.

The first aspect of the process is completed. The Portfolio information has been completed and sent forward to the Diocese. The Portfolio/Profile Committee led by Paul Kelly will now work on the next part called the Mission Profile.

This is a hard working and faithful group of people…please thank them when you see them…they aren’t done yet!  Paul Kelly, Sharon Fasano, Chelli and Sean McGaughey, Barb Miller, Nancy Trubee, Alicia Florin, Rick Hess, Jeff Nieusma, Steve Bross, & Eileen Bisgard.

In the meantime, the church website is being updated with newer information, photo’s, etc. with the help of Steve Bross, Eileen Bisgard and Nancy Trubee.

Vitality Survey

We have received some information about the Vitality Survey results. Currently, the information is just about the combined data for the entire Diocese but does not include any information about individual missions or parishes.
