St. Brigit Community in Transition

For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord,
plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you a hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11

March 21, 2019

TEAM LEADERS:  Please welcome Paul Kelly as the team leader for the Profile/Portfolio/Self Study and Nancy Trubee as the team leader for the Transition Team.  Each team will be needing  volunteers right away so please sign up at the Ministry Fair on March 31.

If you are not going to be there on the 31st, you can e-mail Paul at and Nancy at . It is exciting that so many of you have talked to me (Peg) about your interest. Because I did not want to misrepresent your interest in the teams, I have not talked to Paul or Nancy about those who approached me. SO, please sign up at the Ministry Fair or talk/e-mail Paul and Nancy directly.

Portfolio/Profile/Self Study Team

The Community Portfolio is designed to be sent to the Episcopal National Database so clergy throughout the nation can review it and see if St. Brigit might be a mission they would be interested in serving.  The entire format including the questions to be answered are provided to the Team by the Colorado Diocese.

The Mission Profile will be primarily on our church website. When priests are beginning their search, they look immediately at a church’s website. This will include data gathering, history, core values, how the church functions, and vision for the future. Again the Diocese has provided a template for the Mission Profile including questions that need to be answered. The Profile is reviewed by the Bishop and the Bishop’s Community at St. Brigit before it is posted on the website.

The Self Study will be a part of the gathering of data and information. There should also be either focus groups or a survey of the congregation to receive their input related to the search for a priest. This information from the congregation will be utilized in both the Community Portfolio and Mission Profile.

Transition Team

This group will be meeting quite soon as their first task is to plan with Felicia her going away celebration. May 5 is just around the corner!   This team will then begin planning welcomes for the Interim Priest and whomever is chosen to lead St. Brigit as Vicar. A Celebration of New Ministry ( 6 months after the person starts) is done in conjunction with the new Vicar and the Office of the Bishop.

Also, there will be “get to know you” gatherings and a variety of tasks that will more than likely pop up depending on the needs of the visiting clergy and the final decision on the individual who will be serving St. Brigit.

We are on the move with God’s Blessings leading the way!

Peg Nelson, Bishop’s Warden

This is God's Church and we are in God's hands and that's a really good place to be!
