St. Brigit Community in Transition

October 9, 2019
For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord,
plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you a hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11

This is God's Church and we are in God's hands and that's a really good place to be!
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

As you know, the Bishop's Committee Community interviewed a candidate for the position of Interim Priest at St. Brigit. We are aware there is anxiety over the result of the interview and a need for further information about an interim perhaps coming to serve.

Please understand - your BCC members are following the protocols and the information set down by the Diocese of Colorado. As your Bishop's Warden, I have been in contact with the Canon to the Ordinary, Alex Dyer, with the recommendation of the BCC regarding the interview.

Per the rules of the Diocese, I am not, nor are other members of the BCC, permitted to release the information about the results of the interview.  I know you have heard this before but, it bears repeating:

If the candidate and the BCC are in agreement on service at St. Brigit; and compensation is agreed upon; and term of service is agreed upon, then a letter of agreement is drawn up. Once the letter of agreement is signed by all parties, the congregation will be informed of the appointment by the Bishop to St Brigit along with a start date.

If anyone would wish that this process was different, it is the BCC members! AND, if it would move more quickly. However, it appears this is not the case. Be patient as you have been already...just a little longer and we will have an answer to the we have an interim priest yet? Yes or No?

God's Peace,  Peg Nelson, Bishop's Warden

Please pray the following Prayer for Transition of Clergy Leadership as part of your daily devotions:

"Almighty God, giver of every good gift, look graciously on your Church and so guide the minds of those who shall choose an Interim Priest and a Vicar for this congregation that we may receive a faithful pastor who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries; through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen"

As many of you know, we are not the only church  in transition. Holy Comforter Episcopal Church is in this process for choosing a Rector. The Bishop’s Committee Community through Deacon Bookie received this attached audio sermon given at a  recent Sunday service and recommended we listen to it.  After doing so, I felt strongly that this is pertinent to our entire community of faith.  SO, as you listen substitute St. Brigit  for Holy Comforter and Felicia for Rev. Kim and I believe you will find wisdom, support and much love for this time we are experiencing together.
