FORGED IN LOVE,
CONTINUING IN GRACE

St. Brigit Community in Transition

May 20, 2019

For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord,
plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you a hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11

Please pray the following Prayer for Transition of Clergy Leadership as part of your daily devotions:

"Almighty God, giver of every good gift, look graciously on your Church and so guide the minds of those who shall choose an Interim Priest and a Vicar for this congregation that we may receive a faithful pastor who will care for your people and equip us for our ministries; through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen"

HEALING PRAYER COMMUNITY

The Healing Prayer community will be praying for St. Brigit Mission during this time of transition. If anyone has a personal concern related to transition or any other concern, please contact the Healing Prayer Community through Deacon Bookie, join us every Sunday at one of the healing prayer stations, or send a prayer  request to St. Brigit Prayer Chain at prayerchain@StBrigit.org.

Confidentiality is assured when you contact the Healing Prayer Community through Deacon Bookie, the prayer stations on Sundays, or the St. Brigit Prayer Chain.

PROFILE/PORTFOLIO COMMUNITY

Great progress has been made by this faithful and productive Community. All 12 questions have now been discussed and are  in draft form. Paul Kelly is now integrating the questions into the 1200 character format with the help of several members. Once the integration is done, the Community will review their input. Then, the St.  Brigit congregation will have the opportunity to review all 12 questions/answers and to express their opinions with serious concerns. This is the first part of a two part process and is scheduled to be sent to the Colorado Diocese on June 5.
(Notes from Paul Kelly)

DREAM BIG!

Everyone is encouraged to continue to Dream Big and to continue to put  your ideas on the papers hanging in the Kildare Room… no matter how practical or outrageous they might be. There are new Dreams that have been added since the Pass The Squirrel event. If Pass The Squirrel doesn’t ring a bell with you…ask someone! However, at coffee hour, take a look and see what is new and keep adding. You never know what God may have in store for us.

STAGES OF TRANSITION

Each week on the Transition Page, there will be one or two stages of Transition highlighted.

WHAT CAN WE EXPECT DURING EACH STAGE OF THE TRANSITION?

Stage One:  Loss

Issue:   Grief
Emotional Content: Charged with sadness, anger and/or anxiety
Leadership Task: Bring closure and celebrate the past
Danger:  Failure to face the loss (denial)
To Do: Celebration for the departing Vicar  (St. Brigit congregants did this WELL)

Stage Two: Preparation

Issue: Reassessment
Emotional Content: Resolve & anxiety
Leadership Task: Look honestly & realistically at present situation & needs.
Danger: Create a FICTIONAL profile
To Do: Meet with Transition Missioner to begin assessment work. Completed.
 Assessment is progressing.

Blessings,  Peg Nelson, Bishop’s Warden
