Grimsley Giving Competition
The Grimsley National Honor Society is hosting a Food Drive, March 21st – April 1st. Donations may be placed in bins in the Cafeteria or 1st floor of Main Building. Any team, club, or 1st period is invited to join. Be sure to fill out a collection sheet when donating. A pizza party will be awarded for the winning group! National Drug & Alcohol Facts Week
March 21st-March 25th, 2022
Shatter the myths about drug and alcohol use.
Myth: Alcohol is safer than other drugs.
Fact: Alcohol kills 6.5 times more youth than all other illegal drugs combined.
Myth: I can drink and still be in control.
Fact: Drinking impairs your judgment, the teenage brain is still developing, which impacts decision making, judgment and effective thinking.
Myth: Marijuana isn’t addictive.
Fact: Around 1 in 11 people who use marijuana could become addicted.
Myth: Smokeless tobacco does not cause cancer.
Fact: Smokeless tobacco (such as chewing tobacco and snuff) increases the risk of cancer, especially oral cancers.
Myth: Prescription pills are safe because they came from a doctor.
Fact: When misused or taken without a doctor’s prescription, these drugs can be just as harmful as illegal street drugs.

Student vs Faculty Basketball Game - Thursday, March 24th
Save the date for our first ever Student vs Faculty Basketball Game. Join the African-American History Scholars on March 24 at 5:30 PM in Sawyer Gymnasium. Featuring the Whirlettes, the men’s and women’s basketball team, and your favorite faculty Mr. Zahorodny Mr. Skjærris Mr. Schanzer, Mr. Barnard, Miss Polk and more! If you or your friends would like to join the student basketball team, see Miss Bingaman in room 301.
ASVAB Testing coming to Grimsley on April 1st. The ASVAB is not just a test to join the military. The program provides tools to help students learn more about career exploration and planning, in both the civilian and military worlds of work. The deadline to sign up is March 24th.
End of Year Exam Schedule
The End of Year Exam dates have been posted on the Grimsley Website.
AP & IB exams will be from May 2nd and run through May 20th.
The last day for regular classes will be on May 19th.
May 20th – 27th, students who have an exam or an EOC class are expected to be in attendance. The day will run on a modified schedule.
May 31st – June 3rd will be makeup exam dates.
Yearbooks – Limited Availability
There are a limited number of yearbooks still available for $80 on a first come first serve basis. Go to http://jostensyearbooks.com to get yours before we run out.
Save the Date: Junior & Senior Prom, April 30th
Juniors & Seniors, the Prom will be held on April 30th from 8 – 11:30 PM. If you would like to bring a guest that does not go to Grimsley you must have them complete a guest form. All guest forms (available in the Front Office) will be due April 8th – No Exceptions.
Tickets will not go on sale until about 2 weeks before prom.
The Project Graduation Committee is gearing up with their plans for Project Graduation. It will be held on campus again this year. If you would like to help or volunteer contact Susie Freysinger.
SAT Testing for Juniors
On Wednesday, April 13th all Juniors will be taking the SAT.
This day will be asynchronous for Freshman, Sophomores, and Seniors.

Whirlie Bus Shuttle Bus Locations
GCS Schools has continued to suspended bus transportation for Grimsley students due to the shortage of bus drivers. Grimsley is doing everything we can to help get our students to school. Hop on the Whirlie bus at one of the four locations listed above. Pick up time at these locations is at 8:30 AM and departure from school in the afternoon is at 4:25.
Thank you to our Coaches and Counselors for helping drive and supervise the shuttle buses.
