What does beauty for ashes really mean?  His truth says this - He was there... He is here, in the midst of it all...  We may not always see it or feel it or even understand it... but we can know beyond doubt, He is ...

Above and Beyond

Hats off to our teachers who are pushed beyond what they have experienced before, to achieve what has been required of them in these last few weeks.  Our school system has risen to the needs of online learning and the feedback received from parents has been overwhelmingly positive.  Some have compared our schools most favourably with schools their other children attend.
Additionally, while it had been feared that due to job losses children would be pulled out of enrolment, so far this has not been the case.
Our schools also report that parents have been joining in on the morning worships.
What an unforeseen blessing.

Please keep our teachers, support staff and students in your prayers.

So You Miss Singing?

Enjoy this rendition of "Always" by Kirk Franklin, put together by Lorraine Roberts and young people from around the state who are no longer missing it so much...  Follow Covid_Choir on Instagram for more music, and if you would like to join in the fun, click HERE.

Thank You ADRA

The ADRA centre in Warburton's management recently recieved this message...
"Hello, this is (name withheld).  I am just trying to thank someone named (withheld).  I got a food parcel put at my door and I can't say how grateful I am.  It... it is just going to make the world of difference lately.  I haven't had any money and I have had no food and I appreciate it more than possibly words can say.  So thank you very very much.  If I can ever repay the favour, let me know.  Thank you."
Well done to those who are tirelessly being Christ's hands and feet, across Victoria.

You can read ADRA's latest situational report dated April 22 here.

Celebrate Messiah

Wangaratta & Benalla Churches recently invited Celebrate Messiah to speak on the relevance of the Jewish Passover to Christians today. It was a fascinating program, as Barrie Buirski took us through the Passover symbols and what they actually represent in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus as our Messiah. It was both well presented and received, with people joining from many areas, including a Jewish gent from England. Most commented on grasping new insights to the depth of the symbols and all were blessed.

How do You Give Bible Studies?

The Elder Training videos - “How to Give Bible Studies” and “Organising Baptismal Service” have now been uploaded on for download or viewing. They are a good resource, the videos aren’t overly long, but they are very well made.  And you do not need to be an Elder to access them and learn.

VicYouth News

We had a meeting with our Pathfinder directors from across the state last week to hear how they’re going. Although the transition to online Pathfinders has been challenging, they are all finding fresh and creative ways to do honours online.

Pr Brendan Pratt presented an online “Reptiles” honour which multiple clubs tuned into and was very well received.

Our country clubs are staying connected more than ever with zoom meetings, online Bible studies and phone calls .  They are enjoying their new found connectivity with others.

Also, the new Adventurer's poloshirts are now available here

Hope Online 2020

Last week we shared with you about Revelation Today - Hope Awakens, the exciting and super easy evangelistic program It Is Written had prepared and were sharing with us and how it was to be preceeded by Gary Webster's program, Predictions of Hope.  The project has grown over this last week, and is now an Australia wide colaborative project between conferences, the SPD and AUC and Adventist Media.  Working together, we will present an online message of the hope found in Jesus, particularly relevant to the times we are living in, spread over several months.

Renowned Bandmaster Honoured

The Australian Government has recognised the outstanding contribution to music by conferring the Medal of the Order of Australia on Melbourne businessman, Reynold Gilson who has led the Advent Brass Band since 1987, following in the footsteps of his father, Bruce Gilson and grandfather, William Gilson who founded the band in 1925 with a view to fostering loyalty and musical purpose among the young people within the Victorian Conference. Remarkably, 95 years later, Reynold Gilson has maintained the original purpose of the band, a community achievement recognised by the Federal Government of Australia.

Under Reynold’s baton, the Advent Brass Band has performed in many parts of Australia and has won competitions at the highest levels. More significantly, the band openly admits to primarily exist to present a picture of Jesus through music.
