The Lyft transports our clamps up and down. It is made of chain and 80/20, similar to lifts made by a few other teams in the past. The lyft can go up to 90 inches which will easily allow us to place a cube on the scale.
Our gripper (affectionately named after Francis X. Clampazzo aka Clamps) is based on a suspension spring. Clamps consists of rubber tread attached to a bar with springs in between. This allows for us to be able to pick up a cube from various angles and still get a good clamp.
Atop the first stage of the Lyft you can find multiple hooks which will be used to pull our robot all the way to the top. Once there another hook on the 0th stage of the Lyft will clamp onto the bar and all the weight will be transferred to the rigid part of the robot. From here the bar will be released off the back of the bot to allow others to climb as well.
