With Special Thanks to Kew Gardens

Christmas at Kew:
Join us for the most wonderful time of the year at Kew Gardens as our magical winter trail lights up the evening skies for 2021. Enjoy our annual after-dark festivities, as you discover sparkling tunnels of light, dancing waterside reflections, and trees drenched in jewel-like colour on your way to the panoramic Palm House light display.
Journey through the mesmerising flickering flames in the Fire Garden, spot larger-than-life illuminations and say hello to Father Christmas along the way.

Access info:
The trail is approximately 2.6km long and takes an estimated 75 minutes to walk.
The route is designed so that it can be viewed from the pathways. Some interactive elements may invite the audience onto grass where we will provide additional matting. Christmas at Kew is presented in the natural landscape. Whilst every effort is made to make the trail fully accessible, by its very nature it will cover some difficult terrain with a number of varying gradients. These areas may be challenging during wet weather.
Let us know if there is anything we can help with to make it more accessible.

You are encouraged to use public transport as parking is extremely limited.
Public transport info: https://www.kew.org/kew-gardens/visit-kew-gardens/getting-here
If you need parking please indicate on the booking form, we have 3 spaces available but may be able to secure another if needed.

IMPORTANT: We anticipate these places will be very popular and will go quickly so please email us ASAP to request an application form. These places are only for families registered with Express.

COMPLETED APPLICATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY FRIDAY 8th OCTOBER

Please note you will remain responsible for your child/children at all times.
Your place is not confirmed unless we have emailed you that a place has been allocated.

A message from Dimensions

We are marking five years of the #ImWithSam campaign to tackle hate crime in October.

We are doing a new survey to find out people’s experience of hate crime and reporting things to the police. You can complete the survey using this link: https://dimensions-uk.org/get-involved/campaigns/say-no-autism-learning-disability-hate-crime-imwithsam/know-more/take-part-hate-crime-survey-2021/

There is a video explaining the survey and why you should fill the survey in. We can help people to complete the survey over the phone, they can ask for this by emailing dimensionscampaigns@dimensions-uk.org

Counselling Service for parents/carers of children
with additional needs and disabilities

As parent/carers, life can be very challenging. It can feel overwhelming trying to manage the needs of your child and balance this with all the other parts of your life; family, work, friends. It is often hard to talk about your feelings with those close to you because you don't want to burden them or it can feel like they won't understand. Counselling can offer a safe space where you can talk through all of your difficulties and anxieties. A counsellor is trained to listen and support you in a non-judgemental way, creating a safe space for you to express your feelings, whatever they may be.

This is offered as a low cost service.

If you are interested in this service, please email: counselling@expresscic.org.uk

'Towards the end of the sessions, I felt more able to predict/understand the anxieties that I was experiencing so that I could put in strategies to help me move forwards'

'I really appreciated the counselling sessions and have felt they were greatly beneficial'

' I felt more confident that I was beginning to understand the connection of historic issues that had been impacting on me in the present'

Employ Autism resources hub

Ambitious About Autism have designed a collection of toolkits to help more autistic young people access sustainable and meaningful employment opportunities.

The resources will help employers to develop their awareness and understanding of autism. They will support the hiring and retaining of talented autistic young people.

These resources are also relevant for autistic young people, their parents/carers, teachers, and other relevant professionals to support a young person to make informed choices about their future employment opportunities.

We need a helping hand!

Due to increased demand we are growing and expanding our offer rapidly at a time when funds are very difficult to access. Donations over the past year have fallen considerably which has a significant impact.
We really need everyone to support us in whatever way you can.

This doesn't have to cost anything
