Welcome to our December Newsletter
express News in Brief

Express CIC is an independent, user led community organisation supporting young autistic people & their families. We welcome families from Kingston, Richmond & surrounding boroughs.

We hope you and your families are well.
Please do scroll down for specific news about our services and the support we offer.

We were overwhelmed by the response to our very special Express Christmas at Kew offer. Thank you to Kew Gardens who very kindly offered us an extra date so we could offer more spaces. Our congratulations to those lucky families who were independently drawn to win tickets. We hope you enjoy your experience.

He's back 🎅! Details below! We have to say the personalised videos our friend Santa has made for family members are very special with very specific song requests :) They will bring so much joy.

We will be the cause at Surbiton Farmers' Market on 18th December 2021. Please do pop along to see us!

Thank you Co-op and all the members who chose us as their cause last year. This will make such a difference to Express CIC and the families we support. You can also choose us again this year!

A BIG THANK YOU to the lovely people at Malden Golf Club Charity Committee who raised £800. Thank you also to Shakti NYR Consultant who raised £43.01. We also received a donation from the Shanly Foundation of £103 and had the lovely surprise of an anonymous donation of £600. Thank you so much, your support is really appreciated and means so much to us and the families we support. 💜

Please remember to use easyfundraising when you do your Christmas shopping online this year. This means you can raise donations for us when you buy anything from decorations and festive food shopping to gifts, experiences and more!
These donations really help us and all you have to do is use easyfundraising when you’re ordering the things you’ll be buying anyway.

Please scroll all the way down and 'Take a Smile'.

There are limited spaces available for our groups and assessments will be taking place in early January. Please submit a referral form as soon as possible. Parent/carers can self refer. For referrals where other professional services are involved please contact us for further details.

We welcome guest blogs, so if you are a young autistic person or know someone who would like to share their experience please email us info@expresscic.org.uk

Wherever you find yourself, if you are finding things difficult, please ask for help. See below for further details of our services and support. If we are unable to help we can put you in touch with someone who can.

Take a break, make yourself a cuppa & scroll all the way down for lots of information, events, groups, workshops and articles.

Take care.
Stay safe.
Sending virtual hugs,
Annette & Tracey

Personalised Video Messages

Santa Claus can create a special personalised message for absolutely anyone this year - your grandchildren, your friends, even your customers - let your imagination run wild! The more information you provide, the more detail Santa can share, and it's yours to keep and cherish forever! Once again, every single penny goes directly to Express CIC.

Your nomination really counts.

What is Drama Therapy at Express
Express Therapy Services Contributions

We do not receive statutory funding. In order to provide services we rely on grants, contributions, fundraising and donations.

Our therapy services are run by qualified therapists with extensive experience of working with autistic young people. Where 1:1 sessions are requested or required this is on an assessed basis due to the level of intervention needed. This is generally for young people who need more support to engage, have more complex and/or mental health needs and are unable to gain access to statutory services or engage with other services.
We subsidise all of our *direct therapy services and we use donations to further subsidise or provide bursary places where there is a need. Most importantly, we have a fantastic team of therapists who provide a quality, tailored service and really make a difference to the young people and families we support. We are not a one size fits all service.

*In some cases where a young person has been referred by statutory services, a higher level of support and intervention is needed and a long-term package of support will need to be set up and funded by the service referring.
Fantastic news!
We have been chosen as a
Co-op Local Community Fund
cause for the next year.

Express CIC is an independent user led voluntary sector organisation supporting autistic children, young people and their families.
We do not receive statutory funding.
In order to continue to provide services we rely on grants, contributions, fundraising and donations.
Please use every opportunity you can to support us.
Your support is vital.

Employ Autism resources hub

Ambitious About Autism have designed a collection of toolkits to help more autistic young people access sustainable and meaningful employment opportunities.

The resources will help employers to develop their awareness and understanding of autism. They will support the hiring and retaining of talented autistic young people.

These resources are also relevant for autistic young people, their parents/carers, teachers, and other relevant professionals to support a young person to make informed choices about their future employment opportunities.

We need a helping hand!

Due to increased demand we are growing and expanding our offer rapidly at a time when funds are very difficult to access. Donations over the past year have fallen considerably which has a significant impact.
We really need everyone to support us in whatever way you can.

This doesn't have to cost anything
