Welcome to our April Newsletter
express News in Brief
Express CIC is an independent, user led community organisation supporting young autistic people & their families. We welcome families from Kingston, Richmond & surrounding boroughs.

When we started drafting this newsletter we had no idea just what a strange and scary turn the world would take. Much of what we had already planned to share is now unfortunately no longer relevant with all our events, groups and face to face support cancelled until the foreseeable future.

We are still here during this difficult time, offering support by email and telephone (contact us at info@expresscic.org.uk to book a telephone appointment).
We have adapted and are offering 1:1 sessions via zoom or Skype to some of our existing group attendees we hope to offer this out further subject to funding.
Our counselling service is also able to offer sessions as above and have made contact with current clients where this is possible.

We need your help 💜
Express CIC is a not for profit community organisation and does not receive statutory funding. We rely on grants, donations and fundraising in order to provide our services and support. Due to the current situation all our upcoming fundraising evenings have been cancelled. This will have a significant impact on a small organisation like us.

We continue to work extremely hard behind the scenes to develop services, apply for grants and work on our proposal to develop the hub. We are a very small but very dedicated team and we need your help! Please spread the word, support our groups and events, help us fundraise and give us your Feedback on what works well or what you would like more of at Express.

Thank you so much to everyone who supports us. Take a break, make yourself a cuppa & scroll all the way down for lots of information, events, groups, workshops and articles.

We look forward to hearing from you

"Finding Our New Normal"
Dean Beadle

The world is unpredictable right now
We need answers, something to hold on to
There are mixed messages, endless headlines
It can really get on top of you

Not knowing whats round the corner
Just trying to get by day to day
Lack of certainty scares us all
but we WILL all eventually find our way

We need to make new routines
New plans, new structure, predictable timetables and then
Obey the guidelines we've been given
Until life feels like it used to again

The overwhelm can be so huge
Sometimes it all really gets on top
But remember the world isn't ending
This is a pause, not a full stop

Its easy to think everythings over
That from all this, we'll never be free
But that's not true at all
One day this'll all be a memory

So lets make the best of it
love, laughter, things that will bring a smile
Lets build a temporary 'new normal'
Our old lives WILL be back in a while.
