Teamscale Version 3.2 Released

We are excited to announce our latest Teamscale release -- now available for download.

Metrics Perspective
In this release, we present the newly designed and improved Metrics Perspective, which is the central location for your system's metrics. You can read more about it here.

 Its main features include:
  • Viewing Code, Architecture, as well as, Non-code metrics
  • Navigating the code structure and browsing the source code
  • Configurable Metrics Overview Table displaying the metric values for the files and directories
  • Threshold Selector to select the threshold configurations to be used for the metrics' assessment
Issue Perspective
The new Issue Perspective calculates metrics over issues stored in an Issue Tracker. It aids in assessing and improving the development process over time.

The perspective's main features include:
  • Ability to query issues from the issue tracker

  • Manage Issue Metrics
  • Display Issue Trend

Web UI
  • New Ownership Treemap widget, illustrating the distinct number of developers working on the different areas of the source code
  • New Folder Distribution Pie Chart widget
  • Single Metric Trend Chart widget now supports metric thresholds
  • Greatly improved configuration of metric thresholds
  • Download architectures as SVG
  • Button to easily copy commit id from Activity Perspective
  • Drilldown to the Metrics Perspective from the Metrics Table and Metrics Bar Chart widgets
  • Ability to reference Teamscale tasks from the commits
  • Markdown support
New Languages and Tools
  • Swift language support
  • FlexeLint for C++
  • Git Submodule Support
  • Ability to change Teamscale settings and restart it from the web UI
  • Ability to automatically import backup data from a running Teamscale instance via the web UI
  • Show all the projects using any given profile from the Analysis Profiles view
Custom Checks
This release features the addition of new checks for different languages

ABAP Security
  • Aviod usage of CLIENT SPECIFIED, hard-coded passwords and hard-coded usernames
  • Dangerous cross client database access
  • Control flow dependending on system variables
  • Usage of system variables
  • Missing authority check for call transaction
  • Missing authority check in report
  • Testcase naming checks
  • Switch must have default case
  • Avoid partial classes
  • Do not compare None using operators
  • Do not shadow built-ins
  • Eclose doc strings in triple quotes
  • Avoid redundant parenthesis
  • Avoid 'SELECT *'
  • Number of SQL Columns
  • Prefer JOIN over Get_ function
  • Unclosed cursor
  • Avoid calling the 'eval' function
  • Function name must be consistent with its file name
