Just in time for the opening of the Trent Severn Waterway's 2017 season, Cable Cable has made free wireless internet (WiFi) access available at Coboconk, Fenelon Falls and Bobcaygeon locks. For more information, please visit the Kawartha Lakes News Release.

KLSBEC Wins Youth Mentorship Excellence Award

The Kawartha Lakes Small Business & Entrepreneurship Centre was the winner of the Youth Mentorship Excellence Award at the Lindsay + District Chamber of Commerce Evening of Excellence. Special thanks to the KLSBEC volunteer business mentors for their on-going support and the Lindsay + District Chamber of Commerce for a great event.

New Bike Share Program launched in Bobcaygeon
Impact 32 has officially launched the new Bobcaygeon Bike Sharing program offering
visitors and residents a new option for exploring Bobcaygeon. The bikes are available every day until October at the bike share station located at Lock 32 and can be rented instantly by download of the “MOVATIC” app to your phone.

Connecting Kawartha Lakes Launches First Website

The website for Century Cinemas 3 has recently been updated as part of the Connecting Kawartha Lakes Program. Through Connecting Kawartha Lakes, the Economic Development Division puts local business owners in contact with local web developers to create low cost, simple, and functional websites.

Everyone invited to attend Mayor's Town Hall meetings

Mayor Andy Letham is hosting another round of his summer Town Hall meetings across the City. Everyone is invited to attend and hear about recent developments, our financial outlook and other topics of interest within our municipality. There will be time for questions and discussion throughout the program.

LIVE with Kelly and Ryan featuring Kawartha Lakes!

On June 5th and 6th the LIVE with Kelly and Ryan show airing at 9:00am on ABC will feature a promotion for Kawartha Lakes. The show that is being broadcasted live from Niagara Falls will include a vacation with Happy Days Houseboats as well as a $1,000 shopping spree at Bigley’s.

Bobcaygeon Brewing Company Winners at Canadian Brewing Awards

Bobcaygeon Brewing Company came home a winner from the Canadian Brewing Awards which took place in Ottawa on May 27th. Bobcaygeon Brewing Company won a gold medal for their Dockside Red Ale in the North American Style Amber/ Red Ale category.

Co-founder Richard Wood has this to say about the accomplishment: “We're incredibly excited and honoured by the recognition from the Canadian Brewing Awards for our Dockside Red Ale. We're proud to be from the Kawartha Lakes and appreciate the support from the local community. Looking forward to seeing you at our brewery in downtown Bobcaygeon in 2018”

Kawarthas Northumberland is hosting a Tourism Partner Training Session with Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation (OTMPC) on June 6th. Choose between two sessions at either 9:30am or 11:00am, both are being held on June 6th at Elmhurst Resort in Keene. Participants will leave the workshop having completed their online listings through this hands-on training. Celebrate Canada in Kawartha Lakes

In addition to the fantastic events and initiatives happening throughout the year in celebration of Canada’s 150th, there are lots of fun-filled Canada Day events scheduled for the July 1st weekend. Bobcaygeon, Fenelon Falls, Kinmount and Lindsay will all be hosting signature Canada Day events as well as Coboconk with their annual Fresh Water Summit Festival.  For more information on these events and many more happening throughout Kawartha Lakes click here.

The Kawartha Lakes Small Business & Entrepreneurship Centre (KLSBEC) is hosting a free weekly Starting Point Workshop at 180 Kent St. W., Lindsay. The workshop is a first stop, introduction to the KLSBEC and will allow you to access consultations and other grant programs. Clients will learn about the business model canvas, insights into market research and other helpful tools.
