Celebrate Ontario Funding Now OPEN

The Celebrate Ontario 2018 grant program is now open and receiving applications until Thursday November 9th, 2017.

Celebrate Ontario is an annual program that helps festivals and events enhance their programs, activities and services.  This support helps grow tourism in the province by making it easier for event organizers to offer new and improved experiences that will attract more tourists and increase visitor spending.

Downtown Revitalization Update

We've had our Committee of Council Interviews and are presenting the selected applicants to Council on Oct 10 for announcement. Next up is to schedule our first Committee of Council meeting which will be hosted in Lindsay.

We're also working hard with our KLSBEC on developing training and education for our local businesses within the Downtown Revitalization communities. We have a series of Digital Marketing Seminars starting up just after Business Week, so be sure to keep an eye out with your local Chamber or the KLSBEC website here to get registered!
Community Partnership & Development Fund – Deadline Approaching

The deadline to apply for funding through the Kawartha Lakes Community Partnership & Development Fund is approaching.  All applications for projects and events scheduled for 2018 must be submitted by October 31st, 2017

Funding is available for beautification projects, culture, and special events in the City of Kawartha Lakes.  For more information visit www.kawarthalakes.ca or contact 705-324-9411 ext. 1335 or scooper@kawarthalakes.ca
Do You Source Ontario Grown Food & Drink?  Get Certified with Feast On™
Feast On™ is a certification program that recognizes businesses committed to sourcing Ontario grown and made food and drink.  Supporting our local economy and Ontario’s farmers is important; especially for the food service industry. It builds our local food identity, it puts dollars back into our communities and it limits our environmental impact.

For more information on Feast On™ or to find a certified experience near you visit https://ontarioculinary.com/feast-on/about/
Fabulous attendance at Farmfest to kick off Agriculture Week

Crowds were large at the 15th annual Kawartha Farmfest on September 30th. Special thanks to the farm site hosts; particularly Stellmar Farm and Valentia Equine Retraining Centre who have been a host site for all 15 years of Farmfest. This event marks the beginning of Agriculture Week which runs to October 14th. To enjoy local food year round, check out www.KawarthaChoice.com for more suggestions
