Holiday Hours for the City of Kawartha Lakes

We're excited for all of our residents to enjoy the Holiday season as much as our team here at the City of Kawartha Lakes.

Please note that the City will close on noon on Friday, December 22, 2017 and re-open on Tuesday, January 2, 2018.

We wish all our residents and staff a safe and happy holiday break.
Learn more about Junior Achievement

Junior Achievement offers Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurial and Workplace Readiness education to students. One of our main focuses in the city of Kawartha Lakes area is delivering our day programs. The day program focuses on teaching students our three pillars: financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work readiness skills. Junior Achievement relies on the generosity and support of the communities that we run in, as we are a donation and volunteer based non-profit.

If you are interested in learning more about Junior Achievement, volunteering, donating or signing up a class please head to our website http://www.jacanada.org.plm or contact your local program coordinator: Tasha Bullock via email or at 705-934-0434
Downtown Revitalization Update

We hosted our first Committee of Council Meeting, which was a great success! Community Representatives were informed on where the plans are and what's coming up next. Our Engineering and Capital Assets team presented
construction plans for the communities over the next 5 years.

Should you have any questions/concerns related to Downtown Revitalization in any of the four represented communities please feel free to reach out to any one of these individuals or directly to the Downtown Revitalization Coordinator Bob Minhas via email or direct line at 705-324 9411 extension 1396.

Accessibility Tip

Please consider where you are placing your Christmas decorations making sure you are not obstructing the entrance or areas within your business space.

For example; railings are an important addition when you have steps inside or outside your building. Placing decorations on a railing is a barrier to those needing to use the railing for assistance when using your steps.
