Dear Friends of Passage

Welcome to a brighter 2014. It’s been a while since our last newsletter update and with the time elapsed there have been some new developments and several new dates for you to place in your ever bludgeoning diaries.

This is also a new format design for the newsletter and we hope you like it! As always please feel free to pass this onto any family, friends or colleagues that would be interested in our activities and services. NEW Passage Evening Seminar: "Making the most of your time: Organisational Skills, Mind-mapping & Mindfulness"

Passage invites you to join us at our second seminar and information exchange evening on Wednesday 2nd April from 7pm-9.30pm. The theme for this evening is: “Making the most of your time – Organisational Skills, Mind-mapping and Mindfulness”.

As you are aware, time is a precious commodity in our busy family lives. Sometimes we all need a little guidance in how to better organise our lives, thought processes and presence of mind to “make the most of our time”. You and your child can benefit by applying these useful organisational tools and study skills to help support their own learning. We have brought together four guest speakers, who will each give a short presentation and then we will open the floor for discussion.

Topics to include:
Organisational Skills – Madhumalti Sharma (IT Strategy Consultant)
Mind-mapping – Lynn Frank & Kate Ensor (Passage Coordinators)

Mindfulness – Patricia Anderson  (ISL Student Counsellor)

See the poster (loaded image below) for more details on the venue address and registration.

LSSG (Luxembourgish School Support Group) Open Morning

For those of you with children in the Luxembourgish State School System or if you are currently considering Lycee options for your child's secondary education, then this date is a must for your diary. The LSSG (Luxembourgish Schools Support Group) have organised an information forum on Saturday 22nd March from 9am-1pm at the Forum Campus Geesseknäppchen in Merl. See the poster (loaded image below) for more details on the venue address and the day's programme schedule.

Please note that all discussions and presentations will be conducted in English. There is no prior registration required for the event and all presentations will be repeated twice, so you can plan your agenda in advance.

Passage will also be there to support the event, should you need any extra information on the day.
NEW Passage Professional Networking Evening at Club 5 in Bonnevoie

A long-term vision of ours has always been to establish better links with the multiple Luxembourg-based, English-speaking practitioners and experts, who are often at times working in isolation or are unaware of others in order to make effective referrals. Hence Passage has recognised the need to set up a Network for Professionals, a social network if you like, where they can discuss, educate and share resources with each other. In turn, this can only serve to improve the services offered to the community as a whole.

We have organised an event for Thursday 20th March at Club 5 in Bonnevoie. If you work in the fields related to the health, education and social development of children in Luxembourg and have yet to receive a personal invite, then please reply to our email address to request one without hesitation. We look forward to seeing many of you there on the night.

Future Developments for 2014

Passage will continue to help promote upcoming parenting seminars offered by the ISL (International School of Luxembourg), one of which is confirmed for Tuesday 29th April and details will be sent in a following email. Please also save the date for the following two ISL parenting seminars, which are scheduled for Thursday 29th May and Tuesday 17th June.

Finally work is already underway with building the Passage website. We are really excited to be working on this project with AutismeLuxembourg
a.s.b.l. who have kindly offered us generous support and their team of experts with this endeavor. Once everything is operational, we will let you know!
The regular address for our fortnightly Passage meetings and occasional ‘themed discussions’ is:
239 Val des Bon Malades, L-2121 Kirchberg, Luxembourg.

Look out for the “Luxchiro” sign, then enter the building. The meetings are held in the private room downstairs.
