Jeans & Jerseys at the Mouse Races

Chairman's Message
February 2015

I hope everyone has had a great start to the New Year. Our chamber definitely has, by signing up a ton of new members and retaining our existing ones. We are approaching 500 members for this first time in many years. I would like to thank everyone who has referred our chamber to a new business and the office staff for doing an outstanding job "staying on top" of signing these new additions. The committees also have been hard at work organizing and planning details for many upcoming events. These events are crucial for our budget, and I would like to thank everyone who has gotten involved to make sure they are a success.

Mark your calendars and invite everyone you know to come out for our "Jerseys & Jeans" Mouse Race. This event is going to be held at the JFK Community Center located in Koch Park on February 21st. This is the perfect casual event to get out and support our chamber. So, put on those comfy jeans , find your favorite jersey, make (or buy) your best party platter and come try your betting hand. These mice have been training all winter and can't wait to help you win lots of money!

Our annual Business Fair/Taste of North County will be held on March 21st at the James J. Eagan Center from 10am-2pm. This event is open to the community; last year we had over 1000 people come through in a 4 hour period. This is a perfect way to showcase your products and services by speaking to a possible or existing customer directly. The last few years have sold out early so contact the office and grab a spot before it is too late. In addition to the fair, we will have some special guests and activities for the kids. We will also have some of your favorite local eateries providing samples at the Taste Of North County . This area will cost $5 per adult and $2 per child 10 and under. There will be plenty to sample and the cost is well worth it.

If you have any questions on attending or participating in either of these two events, please call the office and they will gladly share any information you need. I hope to see all of you there!

Our "Best of North County" contest is in full swing. Look around for a copy of the latest Community News or visit their website to vote for your favorite businesses in 30 categories. This contest will run through February with awards to be handed out at the March luncheon.

Thank you all for your continued support of our chamber and for keeping North County Strong!

Respectfully Yours,

Jon Vogt

Chairman of the Board
