Trying Something New
We are trying out new communication platforms!
For one, the Virginia Master Naturalists Headwaters Chapter Board of Directors 2013 thought you'd be interested in a regular "digest" of chapter news so this is a first effort. Thanks to RoxAnna for giving it a name!
Secondly, we have a new website that needs your help to make it representative of all we do! Here's hoping our address, headwatersmn.org ... will be easy enough for everyone to remember :)
Please share information and photos on projects and training you are involved with for posting to the website by emailing our new Outreach Committee Chairperson Adrie at ahvoors@gmail.com. Also let her know of anything else you would like to see on the sight to make it useful and informative to members and nonmembers alike.

Help Wanted!
Friends of Shenandoah River have an urgent need for two or more volunteers to commit to collecting water samples two Friday mornings a month year round at two different sites. The current volunteers for these sites are no longer able to continue doing this.
Please contact Bruce Wiggins, wigginba@jmu.edu or 540-568-6196 if you can help.

A Geology Day
Details are still being worked out but watch your email boxes for information from RoxAnna for an advanced training opportunity with two of our favorite geologists, Callan Bentley and Eric Pyle. It will be held on either Wednesday, December 18 or Thursday, December 19 from 9am to 1pm in Fort Valley.
We'll be treated to presentations on:
-
the Wilson Cycle
-
Snowball Earth and
-
Sticky Rocks
Hopefully your curiosity is piqued and you'll be able to attend!
